承泣(本经之会) 交(次注曰任督二经之会)
(There are twenty-four acupoints in total.)
The *Qifu Lun* (Treatise on Acupoints of the Qi) states: There are twenty-eight acupoints where the Qi of the Ren Mai (Conception Vessel) emerges. (Secondary note: One point is currently missing.) Two points at the center of the throat (referring to Lianquan [RN23] and Tiantu [RN22]). One point in each depression of the central bone of the chest (referring to Xuanji [RN21], Huagai [RN20], Zigong [RN19], Yutang [RN18], Danzhong [RN17], and Zhongting [RN16]). From Jiutui [RN15] downward three cun, then five cun to the stomach region, and below that to Henggu [RN3], one point every six and a half cun. (New correction notes: The character "one" [yi] is suspected to be an error or interpolation. This follows the method of the abdominal meridian.) (These include Jiutui [RN15], Jueque [RN14], Shangwan [RN13], Zhongwan [RN12], Jianli [RN11], Xiawan [RN10], Shuifen [RN9], Qizhong [CV12/Yinjiao RN7 contextually often grouped but here listed as part of the sequence leading to Guanyuan/RN4 area, specifically listing 14 points: Jiutui, Jueque, Shangwan, Zhongwan, Jianli, Xiawan, Shuifen, Shenque/Central Umbilicus, Yinjiao [RN7], Boyang/Dantian [RN4 - note: text says 'Bo Yang' likely referring to Dantian area or specific point name variant], Guanyuan [RN4], Zhongji [RN3], Qugu [RN2], Curved Bone [Guqu]). One point below the external genitalia (referring to Huiyin [RN1]). One point under each eye (referring to Chengqi [ST1]). One point on the lower lip (referring to Chengjiang [RN24]). One point at Gingival Junction (Yinjiao [DU28]).
The *Gukong Lun* (Treatise on Bone Gaps) states: The Ren Mai (Conception Vessel) originates below Zhongji [RN3], ascends to the pubic hair line, follows the interior of the abdomen up to Guanyuan [RN4], reaches the throat, ascends to the chin, follows the face, and enters the eyes. (Commentary: In the *Gukong Lun*, regarding the Du Mai (Governing Vessel), it states: "The Du Mai originates from the strip of the lower abdomen... there is a path straight up from the lower abdomen, piercing the center of the navel, passing through the heart to the chin, circling the lips, and ascending to the center below both eyes." These should be studied together for comparison.)
The *Yingqi Pian* (Chapter on Nutritive Qi) states: (The meridian) connects with the external genitalia, ascends through the middle of the pubic hair into the navel, follows the interior of the abdomen up to the Supraclavacular Fossa (Quepen), descends into the lungs, and re-emerges to enter the Taiyin Meridian. (Ma Shi comments: This refers to the Ren Mai.)
The *Wuyin Wumei Pian* (Chapter on Five Sounds and Five Flavors) states: Both the Chong Mai (Penetrating Vessel) and the Ren Mai (Conception Vessel) originate in the Baozhong (Uterus/Pelvic Cavity), ascend along the interior of the back, and serve as the Sea of the Meridians. Their branches that float outward follow the right side of the abdomen upward, converge at the throat, and branch off to connect with the lips and mouth.
The *Jingmai Pian* (Chapter on Meridians) states: The collateral branch of the Ren Mai is called Wei Yi (another name for Jiutui [RN15]), which descends to Jiutui [RN15] and scatters into the abdomen.
The *Nan Jing* (Classic of Difficult Issues) states: The Ren Mai (Conception Vessel) originates below Zhongji [RN3], ascends to the pubic hair line, follows the interior of the abdomen, goes up to Guanyuan [RN4], and reaches the throat and pharynx.
Huiyin [RN1]: (Collateral branch of the Ren Mai, meeting place of the Du Mai and Bladder Meridian).
Qugu [RN2]: (Meeting point of the Ren Mai and Foot-Jueyin Liver Meridian).
Zhongji [RN3]: (Meeting point of the Three Foot-Yin Meridians and the Ren Mai).
Guanyuan [RN4]: (Same as above).
Shimen [RN5]: (Where the Qi emerges).
Qihai [RN6]: (Same as above).
Yinjiao [RN7]: (Meeting point where Ren Mai Qi rushes; *Waitai Mi Yao* states: Meeting of Ren Mai, Bladder Meridian, and Foot-Shaoyin Kidney Meridian. Secondary note writes: Meeting of Ren Mai and Yinwei Mai. *Tongren* states: Where Ren Mai Qi emerges).
Shenque [CV8] / Shuifen [RN9]: (Where the Qi emerges).
Xiawan [RN10]: (Meeting point of Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian and Ren Mai).
Jianli [RN11].
Zhongwan [RN12]: (Generated by Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine, Hand-Shaoyang Sanjiao, and Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridians; meeting point of Ren Mai. Secondary note: Generated by the Qi of Hand-Taiyang, Hand-Shaoyang, and Foot-Yangyang meridians; where Ren Mai Qi emerges).
Shangwan [RN13]: (Meeting point of Ren Mai, Foot-Yangming Stomach, and Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine Meridians).
Jueque [RN14]: (Where the Qi emerges).
Jiutui [RN15]: (Branch of the Ren Mai).
Zhongting [RN16], Danzhong [RN17], Yutang [RN18], Zigong [RN19], Huagai [RN20], Xuanji [RN21]: (The six points from Zhongting downward are where Ren Mai Qi emerges).
Tiantu [RN22]: (Meeting point of Yinwei Mai and Ren Mai).
Lianquan [RN23]: (Same as above).
Chengjiang [RN24]: (Meeting point of Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian and Ren Mai).
Commentary: The *Qifu Lun* states that there are twenty-eight points where Ren Mai Qi emerges. Wang Bing says: One point is missing, leaving the currently recorded twenty-four points. Adding Chengqi [ST1] and Yinjiao [DU28] makes twenty-seven points. *Waitai Mi Yao* does not include Chengjiang [RN24] (classified under Stomach Meridian). After deliberation, Lianquan [RN23] is excluded (classified under Kidney Meridian). According to *Kouchi Lei Yao*, Lianquan under the tongue belongs to the Kidney Meridian. The *Qifu Lun* states: Foot-Shaoyin has one point under the tongue, and Jueyin has one point at Jimai [LV11] in the pubic hair. Wang Bing says: The two points of Foot-Shaoyin under the tongue are located anterior to Yingchuan [ST9], in the depression, anterior to the pulsating artery, called "Sheben" (Root of Tongue), left and right respectively. Furthermore, according to *Leijing*: As stated in *Ci Nue Lun*: "The two vessels under the tongue are Lianquan." The *Qifu Lun* says Foot-Shaoyin has one point under the tongue. The *Wei Qi Pian* says: The biao (mark) of Foot-Shaoyin is in the back and the two vessels under the tongue. Therefore, Lianquan is not a single point, but rather the left and right "Quan" vessels under the root of the tongue, and it serves as a meeting point for Foot-Shaoyin.
