**Damp-Phlegm Liuzhu (Flowing Abscess)** [Liuzhu (Flowing Abscess): A disease characterized by deep-seated abscesses that appear and disappear in various parts of the body, often caused by phlegm-dampness or blood stasis.] (In the early stage, there is swelling and pain without a head, and the skin color remains unchanged. If left untreated for a long time, fever and suppuration will occur. If detected early, take this prescription immediately before ulceration.)
* Tufuling (Smilax Glabrae Rhizoma) four liang: scraped with a porcelain edge to remove the skin, crushed with a wooden mallet.
* Zhen Danning (Arisaema Cum Bile) two qian.
* Chuanbeimu (Fritillariae Cirrhosae Bulbus).
* Jiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus) one qian: stir-fried.
* Chun Jinyinhua (Lonicerae Japonicae Flos).
* Huaihua (Sophorae Flos) three qian: stir-fried.
* Wubeizi (Galla Chinensis) three qian.
* Juhong (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Rubrum) one qian.
* Qinjiao (Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix) one qian.
* Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) one qian.
* Fangji (Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix) eight fen.
* Baigan sui (Kansui Radix) seven fen: scraped to remove skin, powdered.
* Saojiaozzi (Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus) nine pieces: fresh, crushed.
* Feizaobanzi (Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus) ten pieces: fresh, crushed.
For patients with weak constitution, add Shihu (Dendrobii Caulis) and Yiren (Coicis Semen) one qian each. For phlegm located at the top of the head or chest, add Xiakucao (Prunellae Spica) one qian. For phlegm located on the spinal column, add Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix) five fen. For phlegm located in the hypochondrium, add Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix) five fen. For phlegm located in the abdomen, add Chishao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra) two qian and Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma) one qian. For phlegm located in the arms, add Duhsuo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix) five fen. For phlegm located in the legs and feet, add Mugua (Chaenomelis Fructus) two qian and Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix) one qian five fen.
Decoct the ingredients in nine bowls of river water in a clay pot until three bowls remain. Take one bowl hot, three times daily (morning, noon, and evening). If the phlegm is above the heart, take it after meals; if below the heart, take it before meals. If the patient is weak, divide the dose into two portions; if extremely weak, divide into three portions; for children, divide into four portions. Avoid salt, soy sauce, tea, vinegar, pork, fresh fish, chicken, goose, duck, and all "fa wu" (stimulating foods), as well as fried, roasted, ginger, pepper, tobacco, alcohol, and raw/cold foods. Since the formula contains Gansui (Kansui Radix), which is incompatible with Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix), do not take this if other pills or powders containing Gancao are being used. If the abscess has already ruptured, take only four to five doses to regulate qi and blood and prevent the spread of phlegm to other areas. Subsequently, take Shiquan Dabu Tang (Ten Significant Tonifying Decoction) added with Chuanbeimu (Fritillariae Cirrhosae Bulbus) two qian five fen, Shihu (Dendrobii Caulis) two qian, and Diliruxiang (Olibanum) four fen (processed). It requires taking dozens of doses for complete recovery. For individuals with excessive heat/fire, remove Rougui (Cinnamomi Cortex) from Shiquan Dabu Tang. (From *Yuan Ti Ji*)
**Treatment for Liuzhu:**
* Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) one liang.
* Guanpeng (Borax) three qian.
Mix with Feimian (prepared wheat flour) to make ten pills. Pierce a hole through each pill and thread with an iron wire. Heat red-hot over charcoal fire, then immerse in one bowl of wine. Cool down, reheat until red-hot, and immerse again in wine. Repeat until the pills are consumed. Drink the wine while hot, twice a day. The condition will resolve spontaneously. (Copied manuscript)
**Another Prescription:**
Use Diyü (Sanguisorbae Radix) and Kushen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix) two liang each, Honghua (Carthami Flos) and Jinyinhua (Lonicerae Japonicae Flos) three qian each. Decoct with half a cup of wine and half a cup of water. Take orally. For recent onset, three doses suffice; for long-standing cases, seven doses will cause resolution. (From *Danfang Quanji*)
