Its efficacy is similar to that of *Bungarus multicinctus* (White-spotted Krait), but it is non-toxic and its action is milder. Remove the skin, bones, and head, then process with wine before use.

(Turtle, Turtle Shell, Clam, Mussel)

[Turtle] Nature and flavor: Salty and cold. Enters the Kidney channel to nourish Yin, strengthen Water to control Fire, reduce fever, and eliminate steaming bone disorder. Process with salt water for use. Contraindicated in cases of Yin deficiency without heat, or loose stools. When decocted into gelatin, its functions of nourishing Yin and reducing fever are superior. Turtle meat: Nourishes Yin, eliminates internal heat causing wasting-thirst syndrome. Turtle urine: Penetrates orifices, treats deafness, muteness, and darkens hair/beards.

[Turtle Shell] Nature and flavor: Salty and cold. Color green enters the Liver channel, nourishes Yin, and dissipates nodules. Treats warm malaria, splenomegaly (Malaria Mother), consumptive fever, and steaming bone disorder. Turtle shell meat: Nourishes Yin and cools blood. Turtle shell blood: Nourishes blood and benefits Yin. Turtle shell head: Treats rectal prolapse and uterine prolapse (Yin Ting).

[Crab] Sour and cold, dissipates nodules, breaks blood stasis, and unblocks menstruation. The taste is fresh and clean, but excessive consumption damages the Spleen and Stomach and stirs wind. Crushed raw, it can be applied topically to treat lacquer dermatitis. Crab claws: Induce abortion. Seafood has a turbid and heavy nature, stirring wind and damaging the Stomach significantly; pregnant women must strictly avoid it.

[Clam/Venerupis] Nature and flavor: Salty and cold. Enters the Liver and Kidney channels, astringes essence, consolidates sweat, subdues deficient heat, and nourishes Yin. It is a specific herb for treating floating deficient heat. It also softens hardness and dissipates goiter, used according to the condition. For subduing heat, grind raw; for astringing leakage and fire conditions, use with caution.

[Clam Meat] Nature and flavor: Salty and cold. Resolves phlegm, promotes urination, subdues heat, and nourishes Yin. Also softens hardness and absorbs dampness. Clam meat: Salty and cold, stops thirst, resolves alcohol intoxication.

[Mussel] Nature and flavor: Salty and cold. Clears heat, promotes urination, benefits eyesight, and treats pediatric malnutrition (Gan syndrome). Mussel meat: Sweet and cold, clears heat, benefits eyesight; excessive consumption causes cold damage to the middle jiao. Clam powder and clam meat have the same efficacy as mussel.

[Human Milk] Sweet, salty, and cold; formed from the essence of water. Enters the Heart channel to calm the Heart, clear heat, and settle fright. Grind with human milk to make juice for eye drops to remove corneal opacity.

[Pearl] Salty and cool. Calms the Liver, clears heat, benefits eyesight, and removes opacity. Use raw and ground. The "meat" (likely referring to pearl mother or a textual variant) has the same efficacy.

[Oyster Shell] Sweet, salty, and cold. Nourishes Yin, clears heat. Boiled and eaten to treat dysentery.

[Ark Shell] Also known as *Mercenaria mercenaria* shell, commonly called Ark clam. Sweet, salty, and neutral. Dissipates old phlegm and blood masses. Quench in vinegar, then grind for use. Ark clam meat: Sweet and neutral.

[Sea Cucumber] Refers to dried tribute sea cucumber. Sweet, salty, and cool. Nourishes Yin, eliminates heat. It is a specific remedy for heat due to deficiency-consumption. Excessive or long-term consumption leads to impotence.

[Cuttlebone] Sweet and very cold. Clears heat, stops thirst, promotes urination, and reduces edema. Mash and mix with Musk, apply to the umbilicus to promote urination.
