[Zelan Ye / Ecliptae Herba]

Wine-fried enhances blood-invigorating effects; bran-fried enhances hemostatic effects. It is extremely effective at lubricating the intestines; contraindicated in diarrhea. If unavoidable, earth-fried spleen-tonifies, and glutinous rice powder-fried thickens the stomach. Users should deliberate carefully.
[Chishao / Red Peony Root]
Taste: Bitter, Sour. Nature: Slightly Cold. Meridian Tropism: Enters the blood aspect of the Liver and Spleen; serves as a guiding herb for the Hand and Foot Taiyin meridians. [Zelan Ye / Ecliptae Herba (Note: Text describes Zelan, but previous section was Zelan. This paragraph seems to describe Zelan again or a related herb like Lancao, but strictly translating the text provided which starts with taste/nature)]
Taste: Bitter, Sweet, Pungent. Aroma: Fragrant. Nature: Slightly Warm. Meridian Tropism: Enters Foot Taiyin and Jueyin. Actions: Drains heat, moves blood, opens orifices, reduces swelling. It is a specific herb for obstetrics. [Context implies a warning or specific usage note "Do not use" may refer to a specific condition or preparation not fully detailed in this fragment]. Note: Zelan enters the blood aspect, eliminates edema, and is a water-draining herb for conditions where blood transforms into water. There are two types of Orchid-like herbs (Lancao); those entering the Qi aspect are excellent medicines for treating Xiao Ke (Wasting-Thirst). Even if one frequently consumes rich and sweet foods leading to Xiao Ke, treating with Orchid removes stale Qi.
