Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata) eliminates deep-seated cold in the zang-fu organs; its nature is floating and does not descend. It treats jue-ni (reversal cold) of the three yin channels, moving swiftly without leaving a trace. To restore the root and consolidate yang, it should be decocted with tongbian (child's urine). Ganjiang (Dried Ginger) warms the middle jiao, dispels cold pathogenic factors causing abdominal pain, and concurrently treats vomiting. It guides blood-invigorating herbs to generate new blood and shares efficacy with other warming agents for deficiency-heat conditions. Dingxiang (Caryophylli Flos) warms stomachal cold, stabilizes rebellious qi attacks, and concurrently removes nausea and vomiting. Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba) disperses cold pathogens and releases the exterior, while its root (Mahuanggen) stops sweating to consolidate yang. Congbai (Allii Fistulosi Bulbus) moves horizontally, treating dysentery caused by shanghan (cold damage) and headache of the yangming channel. Individuals with pale complexion should avoid sweating methods that disperse qi. Wuyu (Evodiae Fructus) treats deep-seated cold in the heart and abdomen, stopping hernia pain of the jueyin channel. Raw use dispels cold and scatters exterior pathogens; stir-baked use warms spleen and stomach to harmonize the middle. Sharen (Amomi Fructus) treats abdominal pain, calms the fetus, transforms food stagnation, and treats both vomiting and diarrhea. Baisharen (Cardamomi Albi Fructus) directs qi downward and expands the middle, being highly effective in digesting food. It treats chest coldness and supplements the primordial yang above the diaphragm, clears eye opacities, and dissipates stagnant qi in the lungs. Ezhu (Curcumae Rhizoma) grinds down accumulations in the spleen; vinegar-frying yields the best results. Shexiang (Moschus) wards off evil pathogens and opens orifices, and can also induce sweating. Zisu (Perillae Folium) releases the exterior and resolves the muscle layer, treating wind-cold injury very rapidly. Lurong (Cervi Cornu Pantotrichum) benefits qi and generates blood, tonifies deficiency, and secures essence. Roudoukou (Myristicae Semen) regulates spleen and stomach, digests retained food, and immediately stops vomiting and diarrhea in children. Chuanjiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium) acts downward, regulating deep-seated cold in the six fu organs; adding wumei (Mume Fructus) can stop roundworms. Rongrong (Cistanches Herba) treats impotence in men and infertility due to extreme yin deficiency in women. Although it strongly tonifies essence and blood, sudden heavy use may provoke loose stools. Hujiao (Piperis Longi Fructus) removes cold pain in the heart and abdomen, drives out spleen-stomach cold pathogens, but excessive consumption depletes blood. Xionghuang (Realgar) and Liuhuang (Sulfur) are indispensable for clearing scabies. Ruxiang (Olibanum) and Moyao (Myrrha) are superior for pain relief, but long-term use damages bones. Wuyao (Linderae Radix) smooths qi and expands the middle, eliminates pain from food stagnation, expels roundworms in children, and is an essential herb for qi-pain. Chenxiang (Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum) suppresses yin and assists yang, directs qi downward, and tonifies kidney. Rougui (Cinnamomi Cortex) secures essence and warms the stomach to stop diarrhea. Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus) consolidates sweat and ascends to release the exterior. Wulingzhi (Trogopterori Faeces) stabilizes pain in blood disorders, possessing both hemostatic and blood-moving properties. Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) disperses and moves on the exterior, stops vomiting, and opens the appetite. Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) tonifies stomach and harmonizes the middle; peeled peel transforms phlegm and drains qi. Badou (Crotonis Fructus) possesses purgative and attacking capabilities, truly serving as a general who breaches gates. Although it unblocks intestines, it can also stop diarrhea, but must be processed to remove oil and take only the frost. Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex) levels the stomach, removes dampness, transforms phlegm, directs qi downward, and expands the middle. Xuduan (Dipsaci Radix) treats metrorrhagia and metrostaxis, benefits essence, strengthens legs, and specifically treats traumatic injuries and fractures. Chuanwu (Aconiti Radix) disperses cold pathogens, eliminates cold accumulations, breaks yin qi, and removes cold wind. Liangjiang (Galangali Rhizoma) warms spleen, digests food, descends qi, and warms the middle. It stops regurgitation and vomiting, and removes abdominal pain from accumulated cold. Caoguo (Tsao-ko Fructus) eliminates retained food and cold pain; when combined with suansha (Amomi Fructus), it warms the middle; assisting changshan (Daphnes Genkwa Bark) to arrest malaria.
