The *Shenghui Fang* states: When a child's internal organs have heat, the heat steams and scorches the skin. If externally invaded by dampness, sores will arise. When the heat is predominant, the onset of the sores is vigorous. Initially, they appear like hemp seeds, then rapidly expand. The pus discharges and ulcerates as if scalded by boiling water or fire, hence the name "Wang Lanchuang" (King Ulcer).
To treat Wang Lanchuang in children, where the entire body is covered with sores resembling hemp seeds, containing pus, alternating between pain and itching, or accompanied by high fever:
Chi Shao Yao (Radix Paeoniae Rubra), Gan Cao (Radix Glycyrrhizae), Bai Lian (Rhizoma Bletillae) (each 3 fen); Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix), Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma) (remove roots); Huang Bo (Phellodendri Cortex) (lightly roasted, each 0.5 liang).
Grind all ingredients into powder. Mix with honey water and apply topically two to three times daily until healed.
To treat Wang Lanchuang and malignant sores in children:
Shu Mi (Sorghei Fructus), Zhu Xiao (Bamboo Shoots).
Burn these into ash, grind finely. Mix with muddy water from beneath field crops and apply topically for immediate effect.
To treat Wang Lanchuang in children: On the first day of onset, the skin color changes; on the second day, serum exudes; the periphery may turn red and gradually enlarge. If the serum covers the whole body, it is incurable. The condition resembles burns from boiling water. One should promptly use Huang Lian San (Coptis Powder):
Huang Lian Mo (Coptidis Rhizoma powder), Hu Fen (Cerussa, White Lead) (each 1 liang).
Grind uniformly. Mix with raw oil and apply topically.
For Wang Lanchuang in children, initially appearing with serum similar to burns, this formula is suitable. Additionally, Tao Ren (Persicae Semen), soaked in hot water, peeled, and ground finely, can be mixed with Mian Zhi (Animal Fat/Cream) for topical application. Alternatively, Ai Ye (Artemisiae Argyi Folium) burned to ash can be applied; once dry, reapply with raw oil. Alternatively, soil from crossroads or soot from under cooking pots can be ground and applied. Alternatively, Niu Fen Hui (Ash of Cow Dung) can be applied. Alternatively, Wu Zhu Yu (Evodiae Fructus) decocted in wine can be used for topical application. Alternatively, Su (Butter/Ghee) mixed with Chi Di Mo (Red Earth Powder) can be applied.
To treat sores arising on the child's body: Initially small, later producing pus, spreading incessantly and enlarging, this is called Jin Yin Chuang (Oozing Sore). If it starts from the limbs and spreads toward the head and face, it is difficult to treat.
Ji Yu (Carassius Auratus, one fish, 3 cun long), Dou Chi (Sojae Semens Praeparatum, 1 he).
Pound into a paste and apply topically. This also treats Ma An Chuang (Saddle Sores).
Another prescription: Ku Hu (Lagenariae Fructus Amarus, 1 liang), She Tui (Bombyx Batryticatus, 0.5 liang, roasted), Lu Feng Fang (Vespa Urticans Nest, 0.5 liang, lightly roasted), Liang Shang Chen (Dust from Roof Beams).
Grind into powder, mix with oil, and apply topically.
Another prescription: Fu Long Gan (Calaminaris, 3 fen), Luan Fa (Human Hair, 3 fen, roasted).
Grind into powder, mix with Pig Fat (Zhu Zhi) and apply topically.
Another prescription: Apply Ji Guan Xue (Rooster Comb Blood). Mix Ji Guan Xue with Huang Lian Mo (Coptidis Rhizoma powder) and apply. Decocted Ji Yu Gao (Crucian Carp Paste) can be applied. Freshly sliced Ji Yu mixed with salt can be applied to the affected area. Burn Hu Yan Ke (Swallow's Nest), mix with water, and apply.
