It warms the Stomach, regulates the Spleen, promotes appetite, treats vomiting with regurgitation of sour/rotten odors, sallow complexion, and emaciation. It is suitable for infants regardless of how long it has been since birth.
Ingredients: Wuxi (i.e., Gleditsia Sinensis Fruit Cortex [Zao Jiao], cut into three-cun long strips of bark, roasted in ash fire until green smoke rises, taken out and placed on the ground, covered with a clay pot to retain its nature while cooling, 7 qian); Lu Huang (Sulfur); Bai Jiang (White Ginger; each 3.5 qian); Chen Pi (Tangerine Peel, pith removed); Chuan Wu (Aconitum Carmichaelii Radix Preparata, processed, skin and umbilical scar removed; each 5 qian); Ba Dou (Crotonis Fructus, husk, membrane, and core removed, oil retained, 77 seeds).
Preparation and Administration: First, grind Lu Huang finely. Except for Ba Dou, roast the remaining four ingredients and grind them into powder. Then, thinly slice Ba Dou and grind it finely. Mix with the previous five powders and pound evenly in a mortar. Wrap in a ball of glutinous rice porridge to form a large zongzi shape. Boil in a small clay bottle filled with water until cooked. After cooling, take it out and pound thoroughly in a sand mortar. Strain tightly through fine cloth to extract a thick paste. Place in another vessel. Divide the medicinal powder equally and mix with the paste, pounding until soft. Form pills the size of millet grains. For treating various stagnations, administer 15, 5, 21, or up to 33 pills per dose. Use weak ginger decoction to soak cold rice, extract the juice, and serve in a small cup. Administer on an empty stomach at dawn (wugeng time). After bowel movements occur 3-5 times, stop the purgative effect and begin tonification using Yunqi San (Harmonizing Qi Powder). For treating vomiting due to stagnation with sour/rotten odor, administer 3-5 pills per dose. Add a little rice vinegar to weak ginger decoction, warm it, and administer on an empty stomach.
