After the dysentery ceases, the spleen and stomach remain deficient, and the qi of grain is still insufficient, failing to nourish the blood and qi, thus resulting in emaciation.
The *Waitai Miyao*, citing Liu's formula, treats deficiency after pediatric dysentery, characterized by heat in the palms and soles. This formula may be administered even if the dysentery has not completely ceased.
Tangerine Peel (*Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium*), Fresh Ginger Root (*Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens*) (each 3 fen).
The above two ingredients are sliced. Decoct with half a sheng of cow's milk until four he of liquid remain. Strain the dregs and administer warm in divided doses.
