Grind into extremely fine powder. For crushed bones, fractures, or joint dislocations, take 1 qian each time, mixed with good wine. Once anesthetized and pain-free, either incise with a knife or trim bone fragments with scissors, then manually reduce the bones and tendons to their correct anatomical position. Secure with splints and bandages, then proceed with further treatment. If an arrowhead is embedded in the bone and cannot be removed, this medicine can be used for anesthesia, followed by extraction with iron pliers or chiseling out. If the patient is unconscious, administer salt water or saline solution to restore consciousness immediately.
Chu Shi states: For wounds with broken skin and bleeding, where pain is unbearable, it is due to invasion by Wind-Cold (Wind-Cold pathogenic factor). It is suitable to crush green onion (Allium fistulosum), add a little salt, stir-fry until hot, and apply to the affected area; the pain will cease. Reheat when cool.
*Ben Shi Fang* records: Cui Jishi, while serving as a subordinate official to Li Baozhen in Zezhou, was involved in a ball game. General Li was striking the ball when another general blocked him with his stick. The force could not be stopped, resulting in injury. Li's thumb and nail were split open. He urgently requested gold knife medicine to wrap the wound, sat up forcibly, and drank several cups of wine despite being over his limit. His face turned increasingly blue, and he endured unceasing pain. A military officer suggested: Take freshly broken green onions, bake them in damp ash fire until hot, peel and split them. Collect the exuded juice and apply it to the injury site. Bake more onions, continuously applying heat, changing three times in total. His complexion returned to red. Shortly after, he reported no pain. After changing more than ten times, wrapping with hot onions and their juice allowed him to converse and laugh throughout the banquet.
For cranial bone fractures and fissures, grind green onion white flesh thoroughly, mix with honey, and apply as a floating seal to the injury site; recovery is immediate. For traumatic injuries where breath has barely ceased, stir-fry green onion white flesh in a hot wok, apply generously to the wound, replace frequently; pain stops naturally. Green leaves may also be used.

Grind into powder. Add fresh Malan Cai (Indigofera tinctoria) and Modou Cai (Ipomoea aquatica) [each 1 liang], pound until extremely mushy, mix with the powder. Use fresh green onion juice and aged wine, warm and bind to the affected area.
For sprains, contusions, or crushing injuries to bone and muscle presenting with soreness and purple-black discoloration without skin breakage, add Caowu (Radix Aconiti Kusnezoffii Preparata), Rougui (Cortex Cinnamomi), and Liangjiang (Rhizoma Alpiniae Officinarum) [each 3 qian], grind into powder, mix with ginger juice, warm, and apply. If purple-black discoloration has faded, remove Liangjiang, Rougui, Caowu, and ginger juice; instead mix with ginger juice and tea liquor, warm, and apply.
For fractures and dislocations, add Chige Genpi (Cortex Puerariae Lobatae) and Baota Cao (Herba Siegesbeckiae) [each 2 liang], pound until mushy, mix with previous medicines. Also use ten soap fruits, boil in urine of an uncircumcised boy, remove skin, strings, and membranes, pound until extremely mushy. Add a little fresh ginger juice and 1 liang of raw wheat flour, chop and mix evenly, then pound together with previous medicines. Place on banana leaf support, apply anterior and posterior splints. Carefully reduce the bone, bind tightly. Do not change medicine until swelling and pain subside above and below; do not change if swelling and pain persist.

Grind into powder. Mix with tea liquor and apply around the wound margins. For uncontrollable bleeding from head/face knife wounds, mix powder with tea liquor and apply around the neck. For hand wounds, apply around the arm; for foot wounds, apply around the leg. For other body parts, apply around the wound margin to stop bleeding flow.
For metallic wounds exposed to water with everted flesh, mix powder with leek juice, apply around the wound, gently moxa, and smoke with early rice straw smoke. Healing occurs when fluid drains. If no fluid drains, wind pathogen has invaded; increase Nanxing (Rhizoma Arisaematis) dosage and apply.
If wound tissue remains hard and does not resolve, wind pathogen has invaded; add Duhuo (Radix Angelicae Pubescentis) and apply with hot wine. If still unresolved, wind-toxin is deep and tissue is firm; add Zijinpi (Cortex Periplocae Sepiae) and apply; resolution is inevitable.

Apply Jiexue Gao around the wound margin to prevent bleeding. One case: scrotal abrasion; another: nasal tip avulsion. Both required initial soft tissue realignment before applying this ointment for efficacy. Alternative method: Skip wool cake; lightly dust wound with Jinmao Gouji Mao (Trichosanthus root hair), apply sealing medicine, then this ointment for faster effect.
