According to the *Gui Yi Fang* (Ghost's Legacy): When carbuncles and sores occur on the dorsum of both hands, they initially appear like water stings without a distinct head, stiffly filling the entire hand. After swelling and fullness, toxins gather to form ulcers, penetrating deeply into the bone, which is termed "Fa Shou Bei" (Hand Emission Back). These belong to five categories, all falling under the type of "Fa Du" (emission poisons). Swelling and toxicity of the hand dorsum are caused by the stagnation of wind-heat in the three Yang meridians. It is appropriate to administer Huo Ming Yin (Decoction for Saving Life) with added Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix), Lian Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Shan Zhi (Gardeniae Fructus), Jie Geng (Platycodonis Radix), and Sheng Ma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma). If cold signs are present, add Gui Zhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus); if heat signs are prominent, add Jiang Huang (Curcumae Longae Rhizoma). Decoct with water and wine for oral administration. For patients with exterior syndrome (pathogen in the muscle layer), Zi Jin Dan (Purple Gold Pill), Wu Jin San (Black Gold Powder), or Duo Ming Dan (Life-Seizing Pill) can be used to induce sweating. For patients with interior syndrome (pathogen in the viscera), Yi Li Jin Dan (One-Pill Golden Pill) or Ba Zhen San (Eight-Array Powder) can be used to induce purgation. For the elderly and weak, potent tonifying formulas are suitable. Shi Gen Gao (Persimmon Root Ointment) treats Spider Back (i.e., Hand Emission Back).
Zi Bei Cao (Purple-backed Herb), also known as the root bark of Hu Shi Zi (Fox Persimmon).
Mash the above herbs, stir-fry them with fermented grain residue (jiu zao) until hot, and bind them to the affected area. Another method: add Yan Song Zi (Rock Pine Seeds), or use Zi Bei Cao alone.
Toxic nodules in the palm present with redness, swelling, and pain. Colloquially known as Bing Chuan Zhang (Disease Piercing Palm), it is also called Chuan Ku Tian She (Piercing Cave Heavenly Snake) or Pin Zi Yu (Poor Man's Bowl). If it occurs偏于掌边 (on the edge of the palm), it is named Chuan Bian Tian She (Pierging Edge Heavenly Snake) or Chuan Geng Tian She (Piercing Ridge Heavenly Snake). This is caused by accumulated heat in the Pericardium Meridian of Hand-Jueyin. Initially, moxibustion with garlic slices should be performed to drain the toxin, accompanied by Huo Ming Yin (Decoction for Saving Life) with added Gui Zhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus) and Jiang Huang (Curcumae Longae Rhizoma). For those with excess constitution, differentiate between exterior and interior syndromes and apply sweating or purgative methods respectively, selecting from Zi Jin Dan (Purple Gold Pill), Duo Ming Dan (Life-Seizing Pill), Wu Jin San (Black Gold Powder), or Yi Li Jin Dan (One-Pill Golden Pill). After ulceration, use large doses of Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) and other tonics. Wu Gong San (Centipede Powder) treats Bing Chuan Zhang (Disease Piercing Palm).
Herbs include: Chuan Shan Wu Gong (Mountain-Climbing Centipede), Hua Xin Wu Gong (Flower-Heart Centipede), Bei Zi Wu Gong (Back-Seed Centipede), Shan Su Mu (Mountain Su Wood), Fei Tian Wu Gong (Flying-Heaven Centipede), Jin Tou Wu Gong (Golden-Head Centipede), Jiu Tan Zi Gen (Wine-Jar Root), Chi Niu Xi (Achyranthes Bidentata Root), Chou Bu Dai Gen (Stinky-Not-Waiting-Root), Zi Bei Cao (Purple-backed Herb), Zi Jin Teng (Purple-Gold Vine).
Decoct the above herbs in wine for oral administration. For those who do not drink alcohol, decoct with water and mix with a small amount of wine before taking. Additionally, Guo Lu Wu Gong (Passing-By Centipede) and Xi Nu Ye (Stream-Maiden Leaf) can be decocted in water for soaking and washing the affected area.
Another prescription:
Chuan Shan Wu Gong (Mountain-Climbing Centipede), Ji Shi Zi (Chicken Dropping Seed), Jin Nao Xiang (Golden-Brain Fragrance), Zi Jin Teng (Purple-Gold Vine).
Decoct the above herbs in water, mix with wine, and take orally.
External application for Chuan Zhang (Piercing Palm) and Chuan Ban Yao (Piercing Board Medicine):
Zhang Xian Ren Gen (Cactus Root), Ji Shi Gen Pi (Chicken Dropping Root Bark), Chi Ge Gen Pi (Red Kudzu Root Bark), Ge He Gen (Kudzu Union Root), Shan Bu Gua Gen (Mountain-Bag Melon Root), Bei Zi Wu Gong (Back-Seed Centipede), Shan Zhang Gen Pi (Mountain Camphor Root Bark), Chi Niu Xi Luo Ya Qiang Gen (Achyranthes Fallen-Crow-Spear Root), Tian Bu Gua Gen (Heaven-Bag Melon Root), Shan Pi Pa Gen Pi (Mountain Loquat Root Bark), Zi He Che (Placenta Humana), Zi Jin Pi (Purple-Gold Bark).

Another prescription:
Zhang Xian Ren Gen (Cactus Root), grind and apply warm with rice vinegar. Additionally, use Li Lu Zi (Veratrum Seed), decoct in vinegar for fumigation; then use Ling Xiang Zi (Zero-Fragrance Seed), decoct in water for soaking and washing.
Soaking and Washing Prescription:
Shi Nan Teng (Fatsia Vine), Chi Niu Xi (Achyranthes Bidentata Root), Chi Ma (Red Hemp), Ba Jiao Hui Xiang (Star Anise), Chi Zi (Red Seed), Jiu Jie Xiang (Nine-Joint Fragrance), Zhu Shi Su (Pig-Dung Perilla), Chuan Shan Wu Gong (Mountain-Climbing Centipede), Tie Ling Jiao Han Xiao Ye (Iron-Horned Magnolia Leaf), Tie Geng Zi (Iron-Stem Fruit), Luo Ya Qiang (Fallen-Crow-Spear), Shan Liao Ye (Mountain Pepper Leaf).
Decoct the above herbs in water for fumigation, soaking, and rinsing the affected area.
For ulcerated cases, use powdered application:
Burn old Fan Shao (Rice Basket) until carbonized but retaining medicinal properties, and grind into powder. Apply Di Qing Xi (Bitumen) to the affected area first, then sprinkle the powder. Alternatively, use Sheng Ji San (Tissue-Regenerating Powder), which is also highly effective. The rice basket must be one used by farmers, as it has stored the qi of daily rice storage, enhancing its efficacy.
