This refers to Shuiding (water furuncle), Yuqid ding (fish-umbilicus furuncle), Ziyan ding (purple swallow furuncle), Huoding (fire furuncle), and various other Dingchuang. If the sore appears yellow like jaundice, prick it with a needle, then continue taking Neituo San, and it will naturally dissipate.

If the patient has asthma/wheezing, add a small amount of Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma). Severe illnesses can be cured with just three or four doses. If the patient experiences heart vexation and vomiting after taking the medicine, use Bu'er San to stop it.

Grind into powder, divide into two doses, take with sour vinegar water.

Take according to the location of the disease (upper or lower). First drink half a cup or one cup of cold wine, then swallow the pills with cold wine. If vomiting occurs and the medicine is expelled, it does not matter; continue taking as instructed. If the patient's bowels do not move, take another 3 pills. Shengtiexiu (Ferrugo) (3 qian).
Grind into powder. Grind Muxiang (Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum) in wine to mix and take. Take before or after meals according to the upper or lower location of the disease. Recovery occurs with slight sweating.
My commentary: This formula is a secret method, and I have not attempted to use it. In common treatment of Dingchuang where red threads attack the heart and abdomen, I use 3 qian of iron rust, 2 qian of Muli (Ostreae Concha), and 1 qian of Qingyan (Natrii Chloridum), grind into powder, pierce the sore head, mix with oil from a lamp wick holder, and apply to the threads so they retreat naturally, called Huidan. However, this is not taken internally. Consulting Bencao (Compendium of Materia Medica): Iron rust is the coating on raw iron, used for malignant sores, tinea, spider bites, etc., applied externally with garlic paste; there is no mention of internal use. A family-prescribed method uses Maor Yancao (Euphorbia humifusa Herba), one dan, finely chopped, soaked in water for two days, boiled over 100 times, strained, juice decocted to 3-4 bowls. Add 3 liang of finely ground Shengtiexiu (Ferrugo) slowly into the juice, stirring constantly with an iron rod, decoct again to about 2 bowls to form a paste. This is very effective for all kinds of carbuncles, ulcers, and sores. Applied inside ulcerated Luoli (scrofula), it is especially effective.
