Treats hidrosis of the yin area with crow-like odor, where the axillae smell foul, making it impossible to walk near others.
Ingredients: Alumen (Bai Fan), Lithargyrum (Miduoseng), Minium (Huang Dan) (each 2.5 qian); Moschus (Shexiang) (0.5 fen).
Preparation and Administration: Grind the ingredients in a mortar until fine as flying dust. Place some powder on the palm, mix with vinegar, and rub onto the axillae. After approximately two shichen (4 hours), wash with a decoction of Angelica dahurica (Baizhi). Use once daily.
Divine Efficacy Formula for Axillary Osmidrosis:
Ingredients: Lithargyrum (Miduoseng) (4 liang), Calcined Alumen (Bai Fan) (2 liang), Calomel (Qing Fen) (3 qian).
Preparation and Administration: Grind into a fine powder. Frequently rub onto both axillae. Visible effects appear after half a month; complete cure after six months.
Another Prescription:
Ingredients: Lithargyrum (Miduoseng) (1 liang), Alumen (Bai Fan) (7 qian), Sha (Sand/Mineral salt), Moschus (Shexiang) (a small amount each).
Preparation and Administration: Grind into a fine powder. First wash the axillae with a decoction of Gleditsia sinensis (Zaojiao), then apply the powder.
Another Prescription:
Use water-sublimated Alumen (Bai Fan), quantity not limited. Before sleep, place paper on a table, extend arms to support against a wall or pillar, and dry-rub the axillae with the powder until they feel intensely hot and painful. Rub both axillae thoroughly. beforehand, wash the upper garment at noon with ash lye, soak to remove odor from sleeves, until the garment is odorless like new, before wearing. If the odor persists after washing, the medicine is wasted. Generally, these medicines are effective; the failure to cure completely is often due to odors re-emerging from clothes, preventing a root cure. Another method: use powdered calcined Alum (Fanshi), store in a silk bag, and frequently dust the axillae. No more than ten times. Another method: mix with saliva and apply.
Formula for Treating Axillary Qi:
Take one steamed bun while hot, tear it into two pieces, sprinkle with about 1 qian of fine Lithargyrum powder, and quickly clamp between the axillae. Sleep briefly, discard when cool. If only one axilla is affected, use half. Ye Yuanfang suffered from this disease all his life; upon arriving in Shaoxing, he accidentally obtained this formula and used it once, thereby eliminating the root cause.
Another Prescription:
Remove axillary hair. Grind Kansui Radix (Gansui) 0.5 liang into powder. Slice pork thinly. Sprinkle the Gansui powder on the meat. Apply to both axillae in the afternoon. At dawn (wugeng time) the next morning, take a bowl of strong decoction made from 0.5 liang Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao). After a long while, discharge foul matter, and the condition heals.
Another Prescription for Treating Axillary Qi:
First shave off axillary hair cleanly. Mix white starch with water and apply to the affected area. After six or seven nights, check the axilla the next morning. A black spot, size of a needle hole, will appear. Mark it with a pen. Immediately moxibustion with seven cones (zhuang).
