If a foreign object enters the eye, rub and apply ink to the pupil. It also stops blood dysentery and treats infant "Ke Wu" (sudden fright or shock caused by external pathogenic factors) by crushing, sieving, and mixing with water for warm ingestion. Only high-quality ink is suitable for medicinal use; coarse ink is unacceptable. (Currently attached)
Minister Yuxi et al. respectfully note Chen Cangqi's statement: Ink is warm in nature.
*Wai Tai Mi Yao*: For treating epidemic toxic diseases where nasal bleeding due to heat toxin causes massive blood loss, take fine powder of high-quality ink, mix with egg white to form pills the size of Chinese quinoa seeds. Administer one or two dozen pills with juice of fresh Rehmanniae Radix (Sheng Di Huang), and repeat after the time it takes a person to walk five *li*.
*Qian Jin Fang*: For treating foreign objects lodged in the eye that cannot be removed, grind high-quality ink with clear water, dip a chopstick into the mixture, and apply to the eye to remove the object.
*Zhou Hou Bei Ji Fang*: "Ke Wu" belongs to the category of sudden evil invasion. It is often contracted outdoors or at doorways, causing severe colic and abdominal distension, with qi rushing to the chest and heart. If not treated immediately, it can be fatal. Crush ink, mix with water, and ingest one *qian bi* (a small measuring spoon). Another prescription: For metrorrhagia and leukorrhea (profuse or persistent vaginal discharge of clear, yellow, red, or white fluids) leading to infertility, ingest one *qian bi* of fine high-quality ink powder. Another prescription: For difficult labor, crush one cun of ink, mix with water, and ingest for immediate delivery. Another prescription: For red and white dysentery. Ginger-Ink Pills: Mix five liang each of dried ginger and high-quality ink, sieve them, and bind with vinegar solution into pills the size of Chinese quinoa seeds. Take thirty pills initially, increasing to forty or fifty pills, administered with rice drink. This can be taken six or seven times daily and nightly. If vinegar solution is unavailable, dissolve vinegar in water to mimic the taste and consistency of vinegar solution for binding. This cures even seventy-year-old patients dying from dysentery. Xu Yun states: Simply chewing one pill of book ink will cure the condition. Another prescription: For retained placenta after miscarriage, accompanied by abdominal pain radiating to the lower back and spine, finely grind high-quality ink and take two *qian bi* mixed with warm wine at any time.
*Mei Shi Fang*: For severe epistaxis causing dizziness and near-syncope, grind fragrant ink thickly and instill into the nostrils.
*Zi Mu Mi Lu*: For postpartum blood syncope with chest oppression and breathlessness, grind ink using concentrated urine from a male adult and ingest one sheng. Another prescription: For fetal death in utero with retained placenta pressing on the heart, crush three cun of ink and ingest with wine.
*Yan Yi*: Ink is soot from pine wood. Some counterfeit versions use ash from millet straw, which must not be used. Only pine-soot ink is suitable for medicine, and soot collected from a distance (far smoke) is best. Currently, ink贡 (tribute) from Goryeo is mixed with unknown substances and is unsuitable for medicinal use; this reflects the principle of not daring to try what one does not understand. Additionally, for hematochezia and hematuria, take two qian of fine high-quality ink powder, dissolve prepared Ejiao (Donkey-hide gelatin) in boiling water, clarify, mix with the ink powder to an appropriate consistency, and ingest in one dose. This is especially suitable for cases with excess heat. Furthermore, within the borders of Yanzhou, there is petroleum. Its combustion produces dense smoke, and the resulting carbon black can be made into ink, which is glossy and blacker than pine soot. Inscriptions reading "Yanchuan Stone Liquid" refer to this type, which must not be used medicinally; instead...
