The "Tang Bencao Annotation" states: This is what Tao Hongjing referred to as Lüqing in the previous entry. Those imported by ship from Zhuya, Bannan, Lin-yi, and Funan are large, fist-sized lumps, greenish in color, and sometimes hollow inside. Those from Wuchang are smaller flakes but of better quality. Those from Jianzhou and Zizhou are flat, sheet-like, and lighter in color. Supplements on three types of foreign medicines
The "Yunji" states: It originates from Western countries. It belongs to the category of jade stones, resembling clams or cockles, with visible grain patterns. Greatly cold in nature, non-toxic. Primarily calms the mind and stabilizes the residence; resolves various poisons and insect stings/bites. Using one piece of Haimao (Hawksbill Turtle Shell) in equal proportion with Chequ (a type of conch shell), ground with human milk and taken orally, yields excellent results. Additionally, the "Records of the Western Regions" states: The beams and eaves of grand halls and temples are decorated with the Seven Treasures, one of which is this substance.
The "Guangzhou Zhi" states: It originates from Persia. Salty, sour, and astringent in taste, toxic. Primarily treats wild chicken hemorrhoids (Ye Ji Zhi), malignant sores (E Chuang), scabies, and tinea (Jie Xuan). Those that, when broken, reveal golden thread-like patterns inside are considered superior. Many people calcine it for household use.
The "Guangzhou Ji" states: It originates from Daqin (Rome/Byzantine Empire). Its color is white and translucent, with thorn-like vein patterns inside. Sour and astringent in taste, warm in nature, non-toxic. Primarily treats leukorrhea (red and white discharge) (Chi Bai Lou Xia), genital erosion, dysentery (Xie Li), sores and scabies; resolves all toxins from insects and snakes; reduces acute redness and swelling of the eyes (Mu Chi Bao Zhong); and relieves toothache (Chi Tong). Calcination improves its efficacy. It is incompatible with Muli (Oyster Shell). It is frequently used by alchemists; its potency exceeds that of the product from Shimen in Hexi. Recently, it is reported that various foreign regions also produce it, and it can be used.
