Bao Zheng (Sudden Mass) is caused by the weakness of the fu and zang organs. After consuming raw and cold foods, the weakened organs fail to digest them, causing the food to accumulate and form a mass that arises suddenly without a gradual process; this is named Bao Zheng. It originates from organ weakness, leading to sudden onset of symptoms, and once the disease is established, death occurs rapidly.
Die Zheng (Turtle Mass) refers to an intra-abdominal mass shaped like a turtle. It can arise from eating turtle meat while exposed to cold, preventing digestion, or from ingesting various miscellaneous items that fail to digest due to cold and undergo transformation. These are all due to weak spleen and stomach qi encountering cold, which prevents digestion and resolution. Once the mass forms, it cannot be moved by pushing.
Some individuals have many lice and have a habit of biting them. Excessive biting leads to organ weakness and failure to digest, unfortunately resulting in the transformation into a mass, though such cases are rare. Folklore speaks of "Lice Zheng," where people inevitably bite lice upon seeing them, unable to restrain themselves. Lice growing inside the abdomen may occasionally exit from the lower body and can also cause death.
Some individuals have a strong preference for chewing "Ya Mi" (a type of grain). Over time, this craving intensifies. If they do not obtain rice, clear fluid flows from the chest; obtaining rice stops this flow. However, the rice is not digested, leading to the formation of a knot. The person constantly craves rice but cannot eat normally, eventually leading to death.
Some individuals suddenly develop an excessive appetite, deviating from their normal capacity. Due to hunger and encountering raw green onions, they consume them in large quantities, subsequently vomiting a piece of meat with a mouth-like opening around its edge. This condition is difficult to cure and is thus called Shi Zheng (Food Mass). This is attributed to misfortune causing such bizarre manifestations, rather than being a disease caused by excessive consumption of raw and cold foods.
In some cases, human voices are heard within the abdomen, mimicking speech and responding. This is considered a misfortune bringing about disaster, unrelated to the cold, heat, deficiency, or excess of meridians, fu, or zang organs.
If hair is accidentally ingested with food and enters the body, it can form a mass. This manifests as the sensation of insects moving up and down in the chest and throat.
Jiao Long Bing (Flood Dragon Disease) is said to occur when flood dragon eggs grow on celery in the third and eighth lunar months. If humans consume celery, the eggs may inadvertently enter the abdomen and transform into a flood dragon. The manifestation of this disease resembles mania during attacks.
Jia Bing (Wandering Mass) is caused by improper exposure to cold and heat and undigested food interacting with organ qi. They accumulate in the abdomen, forming masses that cause pain and move with the qi. It is called Jia because it is illusory and unstable.
