After taking powder preparations (Sanji), if dietary intake is irregular or living habits violate physiological rhythms, one may suffer from cholera-like disorders (Huoluan), cold damage (Shanghan), or diarrhea induced by medication. Even if the diarrhea ceases, the qi and blood remain unharmonized, causing the mineral potential (Shishi) of the drugs to stir and generate various diseases. The manifestations include: vexing heat in the hands and feet, trismus (lockjaw), vomiting and regurgitation, etc. Treatment should be tailored to resolve the specific syndrome.
Long-term consumption of powders causes their potential to accumulate intensely within. Heat qi attacks the large and small intestines, causing qi stagnation and涩滞 (obstruction/stagnation) in these organs, resulting in difficulty with both urination and defecation.
When taking powders containing minerals, the mineral potential settles in the Kidney, generating internal heat. This heat binds in the Small Intestine, causing obstruction and stagnation in the Bladder (Paō), leading to urinary retention.
When taking mineral-containing powders, the mineral potential returns to the Kidney. If the Kidney qi was previously deficient, the heat from the minerals combined with improper sexual activity or lifestyle leads to a struggle between deficiency-heat and excess-heat, allowing heat to attack the Kidney. The Kidney governs water; water flows through the Small Intestine into the Bladder to become urine. Kidney deficiency causes frequent urination, while heat binding causes dysuria (difficult/painful urination). Dysuria leads to pain within the urethra, resulting in dribbling and incomplete emptying (Lin syndrome).
Drinking alcohol generates internal heat. Combined with taking mineral powders, whose nature is also hot, the heat struggles with the Spleen and Stomach. The Spleen and Stomach belong to Earth, correspond to the color yellow, and manifest in the muscles. Accumulated heat gathers and steams outward to the skin and muscles, resulting in jaundice.
The Kidney governs the waist and legs. Taking mineral powders directs heat to the Kidney. If lifestyle is improper, it triggers the mineral heat, which attacks the waist and legs. The mineral qi strikes against the blood and qi, causing heat in the feet and lower back pain. The manifestation is vexing heat in the feet and spasmodic pain in the lower back.
When mineral disease erupts, there is initially a sensation of cold. After the heat subsides, if cold qi remains, it attacks the Lungs. The Lungs govern qi and open into the nose. Cold stagnation and binding prevent qi from circulating freely, resulting in nasal congestion.
Improper lifestyle leads to external wind-pathogen invasion and internal accumulated heat. Heat attacks the blood, causing blood and qi to become congested and stagnant, thereby generating sores/ulcers.
Disharmony of the Six Fu Organs can lead to carbuncles. For those taking powders, improper lifestyle stirs up heat from the powder, which internally attacks the Six Fu Organs. The blood and qi of the Six Fu Organs circulate in the meridians. When meridians are constrained by heat and simultaneously attacked by external wind-pathogens, mineral heat and carbuncle toxins bind together. Blood and qi become obstructed and stagnant, forming swelling and abscesses.
Improper lifestyle causes cold and heat to struggle. The mineral potential cannot be dispersed or transformed. Heat qi attacks the Zang organs, causing mental restlessness and oppression (fanmen).
