The Acupoint Map of the Hand-Taiyin Lung Meridian [p06-d26a17.bmp] (Eleven acupoints)
Song of All Acupoints on the Lung Meridian
The Hand-Taiyin [Lung Meridian] has eleven acupoints: Zhongfu (LU-1), Yunmen (LU-2), Tianfu (LU-3) are arranged in sequence; Xiabai (LU-4) and Chize (LU-5) are located below; Kongzui (LU-6) and Lieque (LU-7) can be seen; Jingqu (LU-8) and Taiyuan (LU-9) are situated lower down; Yuji (LU-10) extends to the tip of the finger; Shaoshang (LU-11) is as small as a leek leaf. (In ancient times, fingernails were as large as leek leaves; nowadays they are approximately the size of a grain of rice.)
Song of Measurements for Acupoints on the Lung Meridian
The Hand-Taiyin Lung Meridian originates at Zhongfu (LU-1); Yunmen (LU-2) is located about one cun below Zhongfu; Yunmen (LU-2) is six cun lateral to Xuanji (CV-15); it is two bone-widths below Jugu (SI-1); Tianfu (LU-3) is sought three cun below the axilla; Xiabai (LU-4) governs conditions when sought five cun above the elbow crease; Chize (LU-5) is taken at the midpoint of the transverse cubital crease; Kongzui (LU-6) is obtained seven cun above the wrist; Lieque (LU-7) is located one and a half cun on the radial side of the wrist; Jingqu (LU-8) governs conditions from the depression at the radial pulse (Cunkou); Taiyuan (LU-9) is at the head of the transverse crease on the palmar aspect of the wrist; Yuji (LU-10) is elevated at the scattered vessels after the metacarpal joint; Shaoshang (LU-11) is on the medial side of the tip of the thumb, approximately a leek-leaf width away from the nail edge. (Yunmen [LU-2], below Jugu [SI-1], in the depression two cun lateral to Xiabai [LU-4] and Qihu [ST-15], six cun from the midline Ren Mai [Conception Vessel]. Qihu [ST-15], below Jugu [SI-1], in the depression two cun lateral to each side of Shufu (KI-24), four cun from the midline Ren Mai [Conception Vessel], four cun eight fen from Yingchuang [ST-16]. Shufu [KI-24], below Jugu [SI-1], in the depression two cun lateral to Xuanji (CV-15). Xuanji (CV-15), one cun below Tiantu (CV-22). Tiantu (CV-22), in the depression four cun below the laryngeal prominence. The method for palpating acupoints on the right side starts from Tiantu (CV-22) to Xuanji (CV-15), and from Xuanji (CV-15) to Yunmen (LU-2); this method is very simple, and subsequent points follow this pattern.)
