Furthermore, Zhongfeng (Wind Stroke) has five conditions considered untreatable or difficult. Opening the mouth with closed eyes, letting go of objects with incontinence, and thunderous phlegm rale in the throat are all ominous signs. Zhongfeng (Wind Stroke) is one of a hundred diseases.
When pathogenic factors strike the Zang organs, it causes loss of consciousness, upward obstruction by phlegm-saliva, thunderous sounds in the throat, paralysis of four limbs, insensitivity to pain, and slurred speech; thus, it is difficult to treat.
When pathogenic factors strike the Fu organs, it causes hemiplegia, deviation of the mouth and eyes, but the patient retains sensation of itch and pain, can speak, and shows no significant change in complexion or form; thus, it is easier to treat.
Treatment requires first examining the syndrome before needling. The morphological syndromes of the Five Zang and Six Fu organs have specific names; one must first investigate the source and name the syndrome, then needle according to the root and branch principles. There will be no ineffectiveness.

The above Eight Vessels treat various syndromes with immediate effect. However, one must assess the syndrome temporarily, first selecting the main treatment points, then adding points according to the syndrome. Whether using needling or moxibustion depends on the practitioner's ability to adapt flexibly to changing circumstances. One must not be rigidly confined to needling alone.
