Pediatric Convulsion (Xiao'er Jing): Manifests as curling up of hands and feet, laughing first then crying. If the sclera is red and tendons appear red or white, it is difficult to treat; if purple or yellow, it is manageable. Pinch the Taiyin (Taiyang) and Taiyang (Taiyang) acupoints. Take a bundle of *Cannabis Fructus* (Huangma, 黄麻), burn it to ash, and blow the powder into the nostrils. If the child does not regain consciousness, pinch the Zhongzhi (Middle Finger) acupoint.
Umbilical Wind Convulsion: Pinch the Taiyin and Taiyang acupoints. If the skin at the Taiyang point turns red, take one cup of strong vinegar, refine it with *Cerussa* (Shaofen, 韶粉/铅粉), and perform scraping or massage on areas showing red veins. If the skin at the Taiyin point turns red, scrape the Guwei (Tailbone) area, apply one moxa cone (Zhuang) to the Tianxin (Heavenly Heart) acupoint. If vomiting occurs, pinch the Hengmen (Horizontal Gate) acupoint; if diarrhea occurs, pinch the Zhongzhi acupoint. The first day of the lunar month is the Sun Day (Taiyang Day), the second day is the Moon Day (Taiyin Day), and so on for subsequent days. Use burnt hemp ash blown into the nose and pinch the middle finger.
Water Convulsion: Manifests as upward rolling of the eyes exposing the sclera, with yellow toxic-like changes at the eye corners. Mix *Cerussa* (Shaofen, 韶粉) with refined salt, fry dry in clear oil, and rub onto the Five Centers (Wuxin, 五心 - both palms, both soles, and the chest). Pinch and抠 (pick/knead) the eye corners, Tianxin, Taiyang, and Taiyin acupoints three to five times, and the condition will resolve.
Abdominal Distension Convulsion: Manifests as night crying, green veins appearing on the abdomen, and abdominal distension like a drum. Mix fresh ginger, *Cerussa* (Shaofen, 韶粉), peach bark, and refined salt. Apply this mixture to the Meiliangxin (Eyebrow Bridge Heart) and Meixin (Glabella). Apply four moxa cones each to Meixin, Taiyang, and Xianmen (Fontanelle); one moxa cone below the throat; three moxa cones to the Xinzhong (Heart Center); and four moxa cones around the umbilicus.
In treating convulsions, the method of pinching tendons is as follows: Observe which acupoint is affected. First, pinch the primary acupoint for the disease three times. Then, pinch and knead all other relevant acupoints three times each. Perform this three to four times daily, and the illness will recede.
Pinch the transverse crease within the first segment of the middle finger tip to stop diarrhea; pinch twice and then knead.
Yangxi (YANGXI, LI5) acupoint: Push downwards along the channel to treat pediatric diarrhea; for female patients, reverse the direction.
Five fen posterior to Daling (DALING, PC7) acupoint is the Zongxin (General Heart) acupoint. To treat Tiandiao Convulsion (opisthotonos), pinch and抠 downwards; to treat Dizhen Convulsion, pinch and抠 upwards. This applies equally to female patients.
Banmen (Banmen) acupoint: Push outwards to reduce fever and eliminate hundred diseases; push inwards to treat spasms and jumping of the four limbs. Use the doctor's thumb, a technique named "Dragon Entering Tiger's Mouth" (Long Ru Hu Kou). Use fingers to pinch the child's little finger, a technique named "Green Dragon Swinging Tail" (Cang Long Bai Wei).
For convulsions, knead the big toe and lightly pinch the nail corner of the middle toe.
