When treating throat obstruction (throat bi, characterized by swelling and blockage of the throat), one should select Jiache (ST6). Combine with Hegu (LI4), Shaoshang (LU11), and Jingqu (LU8). Also combine Daling (PC7), Erjian (LI2), and Chize (LU5). Additionally, use Qian Gu (SI6) and Yangxi (LI5). If accompanied by trembling of the jaw (gu han), treat with Shaoshang (LU11).
For a sensation of closure in the throat, treat Hegu (LI4). Add Quchi (LI11) to these two acupoints. For redness, swelling, pain in the throat accompanied by blockage, where even water and food cannot be swallowed, Hegu (LI4) is effective. Shaoshang (LU11) combined with a three-edged needle: pricking the dorsal side near the corner of the nail on the thumb is auspicious. Pricking at the root of the nail on the joint is ineffective. Three arranged pricks complete this method. For bilateral tonsillar hypertrophy (double e), combine Yuye (EX-HN12) and Jinjin (EX-HN15), along with Shaoshang (LU11), totaling three points for bloodletting. For unilateral tonsillar hypertrophy (single e), use Shaoshang (LU11) and Hegu (LI4), etc., and treat Lianquan (CV23) to eradicate the root of the disease. For severe swelling and closure of the throat, use a fine three-edged needle. Hide the needle inside the tip of a pen, apply medicinal solution to the swollen area for the patient, then prick the swollen spot with the pen tip; the illness will be cured immediately and the root eliminated. Another added syndrome is sore throat; treating Fengfu (GV16) yields miraculous results.
For tinnitus, select Baihui (GV20) and Tinggong (SI19). Tinghui (GB2), Ermen (TE22), and Luoque (TE15) are also used. Yangxi (LI5), Yanggu (SI7), and Qian Gu (SI6); Houxi (SI3), Wanggu (SI4), and Zhongzhu (TE3) are used together. Yemen (TE2), Shangyang (LI1), and Shenshu (BL23) act on the vertex.
Tinggong (SI19) and Tinghui (GB2) regulate these six acupoints; treating this condition ensures its disappearance. For red eyes, needle Mucuang (GB17). Combine with Daling (PC7), Hegu (LI4), and Yemen (TE2). Add Shangxing (GV23), Sizhukong (TE23), and Cuanzhu (BL2); these seven acupoints can eradicate the disease root. For wind-induced redness and ulceration of the eyes, moxa or burn Yanggu (SI7); for red pterygium (chi yi), combine Cuanzhu (BL2) and Houxi (SI3). Adding Yemen (TE2) to treat these three points allows the disease to heal without recurrence. For red eyes with skin pterygium, treat Taiyuan (LU9). Combine Xiabai (LU8) [Note: Text implies Xiabai], Cuanzhu (BL2), and Fengchi (GB20). For eye cataracts/membranes, treat Hegu (LI4). Combine Linqi (GB15), Jiaosun (TE14), and Yemen (TE2) at the vertex. Houxi (SI3), Zhongzhu (TE3), and Jingming (BL1). White pterygium (bai yi) is cured by Linqi (GB15) and Ganshu (BL18). For eye pain, select Neiting (ST44) and Shangxing (GV23). For cold tears (clear discharge), treat Jingming (BL1). Combine Linqi (GB15), Fengchi (GB20), and Wanggu (SI4). These four acupoints represent the essence of skilled medical practice. For tearing in the wind, treat Touwei (ST8). Combine Jingming (BL1), Linqi (GB15), and Fengchi (GB20). For excessive tearing, treat Linqi (GB15). Combine Baihui (GV20), Yemen (TE2), and Houxi (SI3). Treating front and back totals eight acupoints. Must add Qian Gu (SI6) and Ganshu (BL18). Sudden onset of wind causing traction of membranes and unbearable pain in both eyes: select Jingming (BL1) and the tip of the first joint of the middle finger; three moxa moxibustions are accurate. For inverted eyelashes, treat Sizhukong (TE23). For blindness (qing mang), treat Ganshu (BL18). Combine with Shangyang (LI1) to treat these two points; if the disease is on the left, treat the right, and vice versa (Miao needling). For acute eye pain, Sanjian (LI3) treats it. For blurred vision, treat Touwei (ST8). Combine Cuanzhu (BL2), Jingming (BL1), and Mucuang (GB17). Baihui (GV20), Fengfu (GV16), and Fengchi (GB20). Hegu (LI4), Ganshu (BL18), and Sizhukong (TE23). Add one more point, Shenshu (BL23). For dizziness, select Linqi (GB15) and Fengfu (GV16). Fengchi (GB20), Yanggu (SI7), and Zhongzhu (TE3) are used together. Treating front and back totals eight acupoints. Yemen (TE2), Yuji (LU10), and Sizhukong (TE23). For eye pain, Yangxi (LI5) and Erjian (LI2) are essential. Next are Sanjian (LI3) and Daling (PC7). Front and back total six acupoints for treatment. Must additionally use Qian Gu (SI6) and Shangxing (GV23). For ulcerated eye sockets and tearing in the wind, suitably treat Touwei (ST8) and Quanliao (SI18) [Note: Text implies Quanliao]. For itchy and painful eyes, drain Guangming (GB37). Additionally treat Wuhui (EX-HN1); itching and pain cease. For eye pterygium, treat Ganshu (BL18). Mingmen (GV4) and Tongziliao (GB1) [Note: Text implies Tongziliao] are suitable. Puncture obliquely outward 0.5 cun, obtain qi, and apply draining method. Additionally combine Hegu (LI4) and Shangyang (LI1) for treatment. For pediatric night blindness (que mu), unable to see objects: one inch behind the nail of the thumb. Suitable at the inner and outer crease heads, on the boundary of white flesh, each receiving one stable moxa moxibustion.
