Lung Wind, symptoms feel like insects crawling. Li Xi Xing stated that during the Wude era, when he was garrisoned in Luzhou, Zhen Quan showed me his newly compiled Ming Tang Jing. At that time, the Prefect Cheng Jun Chuo suddenly had neck swelling as large as several sheng, throat blockage, and had not been able to drink or eat for three days. I asked Zhen Quan to save him. He needled the tip of his right hand's second finger (index finger). Within the time of a meal, his breathing cleared. The next day, his diet returned to normal. [From Qian Jin Yi Fang]. According to Tong Ren Shu: Shao Shang is located at the medial end of the thumb, about the width of a leek leaf from the nail corner. Cheng Jun Chuo had swelling of the parotid and mandible as large as a sheng (as above). Zhen Quan needled it and he recovered immediately. The symptoms were slightly different, but the efficacy was truly the same. However, Li Yun recorded the tip of the second finger, while Tong Ren recorded the thumb. It is unknown which is correct. If it was indeed Shao Shang, it should be at the thumb end. Let us preserve both theories for now, awaiting experts to verify.
