The bone at the end of the spine, known as the coccyx (the terminal part of the vertebral column), has an acupoint named Guwei (Tortoise Tail). Moxibustion of three moxa cones (Zhuang) at this point cures Changfeng bleeding from the intestines. The patient must be inverted to accurately locate and treat this point.
For chronic cold-induced hemorrhoids (Wuzhi) with rectal bleeding, one hundred moxa cones can be applied at Jizhong. (From *Qianyi*)
Professor He and Clerk Tang both suffered from this condition for years, yet a single application of moxibustion eradicated the root cause. Clerk Tang subsequently transmitted this method. Upon consulting the Moxibustion Classics, it was found that this acupoint was originally used to treat prolapse of the rectum and bloody diarrhea in children. This is likely the method of Qibo for treating pediatric cases. Later generations adopted this method to treat Changfeng bleeding in adults, as the initial pathology in adults and children is essentially the same.
For hemorrhoids with rectal bleeding accompanied by fecal incontinence, apply one hundred moxa cones at Huiqi. This point is located above the coccyx, below the intersection of the red and white vessels. (From *Tongren Shuxue Zhenjiu Tujing*)
Changqiang treats Changfeng with rectal bleeding. (See *Tongren Shuxue Zhenjiu Tujing: Hemorrhoids Section*)
There are many herbs for treating Changfeng, but most are ineffective. Why? *Bencao Yan Yi* states that Changfeng is actually intestinal hemorrhoids. If one recognizes it as hemorrhoids and treats accordingly, there will be no failure.
If using moxibustion for Changfeng, Changqiang is the essential acupoint. Recently, Li Cang suffered from Changfeng. A city physician measured from the umbilicus with a staff and applied moxibustion on the spine opposite the umbilicus, resulting in immediate cure. I have since treated others for Changfeng with moxibustion, achieving permanent remission. (Lu's Formula records treatment for rectal bleeding with permanent cure.)
Fuliu (see Dysentery section), Shugu, and Huiyang (see Diarrhea section) primarily treat Changpi. (From *Qianyi*)
Zhongdu treats Changpi and hernia with lower abdominal pain. (From *Tongren*) Siman treats severe pain from Changpi. (See Accumulation and Collection section)
Accumulated fluid retention forming cysts, causing chest fullness and indigestion, can be treated with fifty moxa cones at Tonggu. (From *Qianyi*) Dachangshu primarily treats wind causing borborygmus in the abdomen, large intestine disorders, Changpi with dysentery, undigested food, severe lower abdominal cramping, stiffness and pain in the waist and spine, difficulty in urination and defecation, and inability to eat. Apply one hundred moxa cones, divided into three sessions.
Various accumulated fluid retention cysts causing chest fullness and indigestion can be treated with fifty moxa cones at Tonggu; additionally, apply three hundred moxa cones at Weiguan, divided into three sessions. Mingjishu, located below the fifteenth thoracic vertebra, primarily treats abdominal diseases, lower back pain, bladder cold, and downward flow of retained fluids. The number of moxa cones should correspond to the patient's age. (From *Qianyi*) Huiyang primarily treats cold-induced watery diarrhea and Changpi with rectal bleeding. Shugu primarily treats Changpi diarrhea. Yingchuang primarily treats borborygmus and watery diarrhea. Yanggang primarily treats uncontrolled defecation, dark yellow urine, and borborygmus with watery diarrhea.
Sanjiaoshu, Xiaochangshu, Xi liao, Yishe, and Zhangmen primarily treat borborygmus, abdominal distension, and impending watery diarrhea. (From *Qianyi*)
