Zhongji (CV3) treats lumps under the umbilicus resembling an inverted cup. (Seen in strangury.) Tong Ren (referring to *The Illustrated Manual of Acupuncture Points and Moxibustion*) records: nodules resembling an inverted cup. (Seen in strangury.) Guanyuan (CV4) treats pain below the umbilicus, red and scanty urination, involuntary dribbling after urination, pain at the urethral orifice resembling scattered fire, hematuria, acute hernia pain, and blood stasis below the umbilicus forming a lump like an inverted cup. (Consistent with Ming's view.) Retention of urine due to bladder torsion. (See *Tong Ren*). Yinjiao (CV7) treats pain below the umbilicus. In women, it treats continuous menstruation, leukorrhea, postpartum lochia retention, and cold pain encircling the umbilicus. Zhongfeng (LR4) (seen in malaria). Shuifen (CV9) (seen in edema). Shenque (CV8) (seen in diarrhea), treats pain encircling the umbilicus. Ququan (LR8) governs pain radiating to the center of the umbilicus. (Qian sees this in hernia.)
I formerly suffered from pain in the center of the umbilicus, which was accompanied by loose stools. I often used my middle finger to press the area, which provided slight relief. Even when diarrhea was occurring, pressing it prevented pain. Later, I moxa the center of the umbilicus, and the pain ceased. Subsequently, I experienced persistent loose stools, which stopped after moxibustion. For any umbilical pain, moxibustion on Shenque is appropriate.
Guanmen (ST25) treats wandering qi and cramping beside the umbilicus. (Seen in accumulated qi.) Xiawan (RN10) treats rebellious qi rising from above the umbilicus. (Seen in abdominal pain.) Qihai (RN6) treats cold qi rising from below the umbilicus to the heart, blood coagulating into lumps resembling an inverted cup, and red, scanty urination. Fujie (SP15) treats pain encircling the umbilicus and qi rushing upward to the heart. (Consistent with *Qian Jin Fang*). Abdominal coldness, diarrhea with coughing and reverse flow. Tianshu (ST25) treats severe pain beside the umbilicus, frequently rising upward causing vexation, fullness, vomiting, and cholera-like symptoms. The lower note in *Ming Tang* states: umbilical pain caused by cold qi. (Seen in cold qi syndrome.) *Qian Jin Fang* states: umbilical pain caused by contracting cold in winter. (Seen in diarrhea). Wailing (ST26) governs a sensation of the heart hanging empty, with downward radiation to umbilical and abdominal pain. (Qian sees this in abdominal pain). Shanglian (ST34) treats abdominal pain beside the umbilicus. (Seen in hypochondriac pain). Siman (KI13) treats severe pain below the umbilicus. (Seen in accumulations and masses). Fen shui (BL33? Note: Context suggests a point for water metabolism, possibly referring to a specific classical reference not standardly named "Fenshui" in modern lists, but treated as per text) treats edema with pain encircling the umbilicus. (For infantile umbilical swelling, moxa three burns between the lumbar vertebrae opposite the umbilicus. Ran gu (KI2) governs infantile wind-lock of the umbilicus where the mouth does not open. (Consistent with *Tong Ren*). Easily startled, severe绞痛 (cramping pain) encircling the umbilicus. Moxa Tianshu one hundred burns. (Qian sees this in zheng jia masses). Cramping pain below the umbilicus, moxa Guanyuan one hundred burns. (Seen in abdominal cold-heat disorders). Shenque, Shimen, etc., govern hernias encircling the umbilicus. Shenque, Shimen, and Tianshu govern umbilical hernias encircling the umbilicus. Ligou (LR5) treats accumulated qi in the umbilicus. (Qian sees this concurrently in hernia).
