Guanyuan (CV4), treats leukorrhea and abdominal masses. Due to postpartum lochia not stopping, menstruation ceases, and lower menstrual blood is cold. (Wang Ming and *Tongren Shuxue Zhenjiu Tujing* records are the same.) Qihai (CV6), (see Menstruation section) Xiaochangshu (BL27), treats leukorrhea. (Qian and Ming books record the same.) Zhongji (CV3), treats leukorrhea and irregular menstruation. (See Infertility section) Daimai (GB26), treats red and white leukorrhea. (See Lower Abdominal Pain section) Wang Ming also states: Qi reverses from the hypochondrium connecting to the back, pain unbearable. Yinjiao (CV7), (see Lochia section) treats leukorrhea. (Wang Ming record) Qugu (CV2), treats red and white leukorrhea, aversion to sexual intercourse, urinary retention and difficulty. For cases of deficiency, fatigue, and extreme cold, moxibustion is suitable. Shangji (likely referring to a specific point or typo in source, translated as per text), primarily treats white discharge. Cili (BL32), primarily treats red and white discharge. Heart accumulation with distension and lower back pain; Zhongji (CV3) primarily treats red discharge mixed with white qi and strangury, scanty menstruation. Yaoqiaojiao (BL32/Cili), primarily treats involuntary discharge of vaginal fluid, red discharge, and pruritus vulvae, pain radiating to the lower abdomen and controlling the lower back making flexion and extension impossible. Qugu (CV2) primarily treats red and white watery discharge, dryness and pain in the vagina, aversion to sexual intercourse, hardness of the lower abdomen, and urinary retention. Dahe (KI12) primarily treats red watery discharge.
Those seeking herbal medicine for red and white leukorrhea were all given Zhenling Dan (Spirit-Calming Pill). This is because Zhenling Dan can invigorate blood and warm the middle. Due to its miraculous efficacy, it is recorded here. If moxibustion on Qihai (CV6) is ineffective, on the next day, moxa is applied to the Daimai (GB26) acupoint. The patient claimed a ghost possessed her body, saying, "Yesterday's moxibustion was good, but it did not reach me. Today's moxibustion reached me, and I am now leaving. You may offer wine and food to sacrifice to me." The family sacrificed according to his words, and the illness disappeared like nothing had happened. This is a true event. I initially found this strange, then thought of Duke Jing of Jin’s disease of the Gohuang (Gao Huang) area, where two ghosts likely resided because his deficiency and consumption were severe, allowing ghosts to take advantage of the emptiness to dwell there. Does this woman’s illness also involve ghosts? Could it be that excessive mental exertion caused deficiency and damage, leading to this illness, and ghosts also took advantage of the emptiness to dwell there? Since moxibustion accurately targeted the acupoints, the ghosts had no choice but to leave; even without sacrifice, it would suffice. Since then, whenever someone came seeking moxibustion, when I pressed this acupoint, everyone felt soreness and pain immediately. I knew this was the correct acupoint and instructed them to go home and apply moxibustion themselves; none failed to recover. This acupoint is located one cun eight fen below the costal margin at the lateral ribs. Those suffering from this illness should apply moxibustion immediately. Many women die from this illness, so it must not be neglected. Moxibustion on Baihui (GV20) is especially beneficial if added. This illness is mostly caused by excessive mental exertion.
For leukorrhea, moxa is applied to Jianshi (PC5) thirty moxa cones. (See Hernia and Mass section) For infertility, leakage of red and white discharge, Quanmen (KI14/Yinhu, contextually likely referring to a local point or typo, translated as per text) ten moxa cones, administered three times. For hematochezia, white discharge, and bloody leakage, the Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian fifty moxa cones, located three cun above the medial malleolus. For five types of cold in the abdomen, hundred moxa cones, for leakage of red and white discharge and difficult menstruation, moxa is applied to Jiaoyi (likely Jiaoxin SP8 or similar, translated as per text), for bloody leakage of red and white. Yingchi four acupoints twenty moxa cones, located on the pulse above the pool on both anterior and posterior sides of the medial malleolus, also known as Yinyang acupoints, for leakage of red and white discharge, soreness and wasting of the four limbs, and leakage of yin fluids thirty moxa cones, located on the slight arterial pulse five fen below the medial malleolus, for profuse red and white leukorrhea. Moxa is applied to the Yinyang acupoints according to the patient's age in moxa cones, administered three times. Located at the junction of white flesh inside and outside under the flexor aspect of the big toe.
For metrorrhagia and leukorrhea due to postpartum lochia not stopping, [Zhongji] is the most important acupoint for determining fertility issues in women. Needle Zhongji (CV3) four times, and skilled practitioners will see results. If not effective, needle further. Insertion depth eight fen.
