The meridians and collaterals pervade the entire body, consisting of fourteen main meridians. Six pairs of meridians have exterior-interior relationships; the Du Meridian (Governor Vessel) governs all Yang meridians, and the Ren Meridian (Conception Vessel) governs all Yin meridians. All Yang meridians run on the exterior/lateral aspects, while all Yin meridians run on the interior/medial aspects. This distribution pattern applies to the limbs, abdomen, and back alike. The Du Meridian ascends along the spine, passing through the Yingjiao point (GV 28). The midline of the umbilicus and abdomen is the pathway of the Ren Meridian. The Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian begins at the lateral side of the little toe, enters from the heel, converges beside the sacrum, ascends flanking the spine in four branches forward, and connects to the eyes. The pathway involving the Jingming point (BL 1) is the longest. The Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian originates anterior to the tip of the fourth toe, passes laterally to the external malleolus, Yangguan point (GB 33), and Huantiao point (GB 30), traverses the hypochondrium, crosses the shoulder to Qu Yuan point (GB 22), connects anterior and posterior to the ear, and links to the coccyx region. The Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian originates between the big toe and the second toe, passes through Zusanli point (ST 36) and Tianshu point (ST 25), runs through the breast area. The third line on the abdomen connects to the upper teeth, circles the lips, runs alongside the nose, and reaches the Yingxiang point (LI 18) under the zygomatic bone. The three Yin meridians of the foot are internally connected: the Jueyin meridian is posterior, the Shaoyin meridian is central, and the Taiyin meridian is anterior. The Kidney Meridian emerges from the sole of the foot, passes through the medial malleolus, runs along the chest and abdomen flanking the Ren Meridian, and ascends to the Lianquan point (CV 23). The Hand-Taiyin Lung Meridian and Foot-Jueyin Liver Meridian both originate at the big toe, but the Taiyin is on the medial side and the Jueyin is on the lateral side; they do not connect directly. The Hand-Taiyin Lung Meridian starts from Chongmen point (SP 12), four lines away from the abdominal midline, arranged sequentially. The Foot-Jueyin Liver Meridian follows the genitalia from the pubic hair region, obliquely connects to Qimen point (LR 14), located between the nipple and ribs. Among the three Yang meridians of the hand, which is superior? The Hand-Yangming Large Intestine Meridian originates at the index finger, heads toward the shoulder, pierces into the cheek to enter the lower jaw, and meets at the Yingxiang point (LI 18) lateral to the nose. The Hand-Shaoyang Sanjiao Pericardium Meridian originates at the ring finger, posterior to the Hand-Yangming, runs around the ear, and approaches the eyebrow tip (Zhuzhong point, TE 23). The Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine Meridian originates at the little finger, runs lower, spirals behind the shoulder, and meets at the auricular-temporal region. There are also three Yin meridians running on the inner arms. The Hand-Taiyin Lung Meridian originates at the thumb and heads to the anterior shoulder; the Hand-Jueyin Pericardium Meridian connects from the middle finger, via the axilla, to the chest. The Jiquan point (HT 1) is the location of the Hand-Shaoyin Heart Meridian. The three Yang meridians of the hand and foot all ascend to the head, while the three Yin meridians' acupoints only circulate within the breast and chest regions. Only the Hand-Jueyin Pericardium Meridian ascends posterior to the hangshang (pharyngeal area) to the vertex, converges with the Du Meridian, and flows downward to the Ren Meridian. Meridians generally run straight, whereas collaterals branch off from their primary meridians to connect with other meridians. There are fourteen main meridians and sixteen collaterals; please remember them clearly and distinguish them well.
The Meridian Chapter concludes with fifteen collaterals. The *Pingren Qixiang Lun* (Treatise on the Qi and Image of Healthy People) states: The great collateral of the stomach is named Xuli, it penetrates the diaphragm, connects to the lung, emerges below the left nipple, and its pulsation can be seen moving the clothing. This totals sixteen collaterals.

(From the chest to the hand, twenty-two acupoints on each side)
The Lung Meridian begins at Zhongfu point (LU 1), located in the intercostal space of the third rib, ascending one cun and six fen to reach Yunmen point (LU 2), where the arterial pulse is sought three cun below the axilla for Tianfu point (LU 3). Xiabai point (LU 2) is discussed at five cun above the elbow crease. Chi Ze point (LU 5) is at the center of the elbow, in the transverse crease. Kongzui point (LU 6) is taken seven cun above the wrist. Lieque point (LU 7) is one cun and half a cun away from the wrist. Jingqu point (LU 8) is governed by the depression at the Cun Kou (radial pulse position). Taiyuan point (LU 9) is at the head of the transverse crease of the palm. Yuji point (LU 10) is within the scattered vessels after the joint. Shaoshang point (LU 11) is at the medial end of the big toe [Note: Text says big toe, but anatomically it is the radial side of the thumb nail], separated from the nail corner like the shape of an ear [Note: "Fei Er" likely refers to the specific shape or distance near the nail corner].
