Fengqian Chujian (Eyelid Eversion Induced by Wind) refers to a condition where the spleen and stomach are invaded by wind pathogenic factors, causing stagnant toxins to accumulate between the eyelids. When the eyelids are affected by wind, the skin becomes tight; when the spleen is affected, the flesh becomes swollen. This combination of tight skin and swollen flesh leads to the wind pulling the eyelid outward, resulting in profuse tearing regardless of the season. This occurs because the Earth element (Spleen) sinks and fails to act as a dike to contain water. Water infiltrates the eyelids, leading to a moist and ulcerated appearance. Treatment method: First, use Mofeng Gao (Wind-Expelling Ointment) to scrape away the wind evil outside the spleen channel, then apply Bailian Gao (White Coptis Ointment) to dissipate wind toxins. Turn over the eyelid skin and perform cauterization three to five times, which is acceptable. This condition is easy to treat if it has persisted for one or two years; however, if it has lasted for many years and the flesh becomes hard, it is difficult to treat. If red blood vessels appear in the eye, penetrating into the cornea (Heijing), accompanied by nebulae and membranes, administer medicinal powders by insufflation. For itching and sagging eyelids, wash with Bitian Danyao (Blue Sky Mineral Pill). This condition generally belongs to diseases of the eyelid margin (Yanxian). Individuals suffering from severe wind diseases (such as leprosy) often have their facial features pulled, making them susceptible to this condition, which is difficult to regulate and treat, hence the name "Fengqian Chujian".
Question: Why does the lower eyelid evert for a long time without retracting, accompanied by profuse tearing? Answer: This is caused by damage to the Spleen channel from wind pathogenic factors, resulting in the failure of the "soil" (Spleen Earth) to control water. Treatment method: For cases with thick and hard flesh, use fire cauterization three to five times until the skin condition improves. Internally, take Yeguang Liuhong Wan (Night-Luminous Willow-Red Pill); externally, rub Mofeng Gao on the area. For eye drops, use potent medicines but add a small amount of cooling agents.
Yeguang Liuhong Wan: Treats wind pathogenic factors damaging the eyelids, causing wind-induced eyelid eversion that cannot retract. It is suitable for oral administration.
