*Gu Yi Nan Jing* (Ancient Meaning of the Classic of Difficult Issues). My father, during his leisure time from years of lecturing on medical texts, synthesized the views of various schools and independently formulated his interpretations. Initially, in the spring of the Gengchen year, the woodblock printing process was about to be completed. Unexpectedly, a disaster caused by Zhurongshi (the Fire God, referring to fire) occurred, and more than half of the content was lost. Subsequently, I began to draft the text again. Now, the manuscript has been restored to its original state. However, my father was busy traveling to various places and had no time to settle down. Therefore, my disciple Quan Chun'an conducted repeated proofreading, and I also participated in this work.
After the review was completed, we requested Shan Gongjie, a friend of my father, to personally copy the clean draft, and the carving and printing were finished. Thus, I record these events to apologize for the delay.
In the tenth month of winter in the Renchen year, recorded by your son, Zhongshi.
