Fried salted fish in sesame oil, consumed several times, is highly effective. This prescription is peculiar and miraculous, though its mechanism is inconceivable.

This condition is named Xiu Xi Li (Resting Dysentery, referring to dysentery that comes and goes and persists for a long time). In cases of dysentery where the abdomen does not hurt, but only pus and blood are discharged, accompanied by the flow of yellow serum, which fails to heal after a long period. This is caused by a habitual preference for consuming cold tea, cold water, and alcohol. Take live eels, remove the intestines and viscera, cut them into pieces, place them on tiles, and bake until charred into carbon, then grind into powder. Take three qian per dose, mixed with brown sugar, and swallow with warm aged wine. After several doses, complete recovery occurs. It is miraculously effective regardless of age, avoiding raw/cold foods, cold water, alcohol, sea cucumber, jellyfish, etc. This is an empirical prescription from Linwu Shanshanren.

Another prescription: Use genuine Wumei (Mume Fruit), decoct in water, mix with red and white rock sugar, and take orally. It has significant efficacy. Alternatively, use the method of fumigating and washing with Wumei (see the prescription for Jin Kou Li/Throat-Closing Dysentery mentioned earlier), which is also effective.

Yet another prescription: For dysentery that has persisted for many years without healing, the accumulation has been present for so long causing a bearing-down sensation, reaching even the junction of the lower opening of the large intestine and the upper opening of the rectum. There is a slight tortuosity hidden there, which is the deepest part of the intestinal organs, a place where medicines cannot reach. The symptoms manifest as alternating severity, remission and recurrence, stools varying between red and white, or hard and loose. Even divine elixirs are of no help; often lasting three to five years or more than ten years without healing, this is precisely the reason. It is suitable to use Yadanzi (Brucea javanica Seed), removing the shell, and wrapping it in Longyan Rou (Longan Aril). Adults wrap seven seeds per packet, maximum seven packets, minimum five packets; children wrap three seeds per packet, maximum five packets, minimum three packets. Swallow with boiling water on an empty stomach, followed by one or two bowls of dry rice. When defecation occurs, if white dysenteric discharge resembling fish brain appears, this is the root of Cold Li (Cold Dysentery). If no such white discharge appears, take another dose after one or two days (adding a few seeds is also acceptable); thereafter, no further administration is needed. Avoid all raw/cold foods, soft-shelled turtle, sea cucumber, jellyfish, century egg, and duck meat for three months; avoid meat and alcohol for five days. It will never recur again. Even for cases persisting for over ten years, it is miraculously effective. If abdominal pain occurs one or two days after taking the medicine, use one Baishao (White Peony Root) and one Gancao (Licorice Root), each weighing three qian. Wrap in paper, moisten with water, roast in fire until cooked, take out, pound into paste, decoct in water, and drink; relief is immediate.

Yet another prescription: Tofu, decocted with vinegar, taken frequently, is very effective.

Yet another prescription: Bark from ancient pine trees of decades-old age, ground into fine powder, mixed with thin porridge, take one bowl, three times daily. Cure is certain within three days.
