Treats anal wind and malnutrition (Gu Dao Feng Gan), presenting as pruritic lesions resembling tinea, with ulceration and discharge of yellow fluid. Take 3 qian of Dangguiwei (Tail of Angelica Sinensis Root), 1.5 qian of Badou Rou (Kernel of Croton Seed), and 4 liang of Mahua (Sesame Oil). Soak the herbs in the oil, and fry over a gentle fire until charred. Strain out the dregs, add 0.5 liang of Huangla (Yellow Beeswax) and melt completely. Filter through cloth into a bowl, then add 2 qian of Qingfen (Calomel) fine powder. Stir thoroughly to form an ointment. Apply frequently to the affected area.
Treats Qi Chuang (Lacquer Dermatitis) causing pain, with erythematous ulcers and weeping. Take 1 liang of Shuifen (Lead Carbonate), 5 qian of Shushigao (Calcined Gypsum), and 5 qian of Qingfen (Calomel). Grind them together into an extremely fine powder. Crush Jiucai Zhi (Juice of Chinese Chive) or Luobo Zhi (Radish Juice), or use oil to mix and apply. Alternatively, crush Machixian (Purslane) into a paste and apply; this is also effective.
Treats various sores that have already ulcerated, where accidental contact with horse sweat, soap lye, fecal matter, or toxic water, or puncture by bamboo/wood splinters, causes swelling and pain. Take one large dried Chanha (Toad), 15 grains of Hujiao (Black Pepper), and 7 seeds of Zaoguo (Soap Bean Pod). Place in a clay jar, cover the mouth with a tile, and roast over charcoal fire until smoke ceases but the medicinal nature remains (Cun Xing). Remove and grind into an extremely fine powder. Clean the sore with warm water, dry it, sprinkle the powder inside, and cover with Taiyi Gao (Taiyi Plaster). After some time, toxic fluids will drain completely, and any splinters will be expelled.
Treats itching from various sores. Take Kufan (Alum) and Ganjiang (Dried Ginger) in equal proportions, grind into powder. Cleanse the area with salted tea water, and sprinkle the powder frequently.
Treats chronic ulcers where stagnation transforms into maggots. Roast Haishen (Sea Cucumber) until dry, grind into an extremely fine powder, and sprinkle frequently. Alternatively, sprinkle Zao Fan (Green Vitriol) powder.
Treats maggot infestation in ulcerated smallpox lesions: First clean with warm tea, then grind Han Shui Shi (Halloysitum) into an extremely fine powder and sprinkle frequently.
Treats scalds and burns. For areas that are red, swollen, and denuded of skin, applying this remedy detoxifies and relieves pain. Take Jiaoziduan Shui (Water from calcined lime bricks) dissolved in several sheng. Immerse and stir until turbid, ensuring the liquid level covers the sediment by about 0.5 cun. Leave exposed overnight; cloud-like flakes will rise on the surface. Gently skim these off with water. Mix one zhong (measure) of this extract with one zhong of Mahua (Sesame Oil). Stir in one direction to form an ointment. Use a chicken feather to sweep and apply to the affected area.
Treats swelling, pain, and purplish discoloration following beating or traumatic injury, whether the skin is broken or intact. Apply this plaster, cover with paper, and change once daily. Take 1 liang of Ruyi Jinhuang San (Ruyi Golden Yellow Powder), add 3 qian of Zhangnao (Borneol) powder, and mix with the aforementioned Qingliang Gao (Cooling Ointment) for application.
Treats minor bites from mad dogs. Initially, wash the wound with hot urine, squeeze out the foul blood, and immediately apply this powder to expel wind and draw out toxins. Take 1 qian each of Beixixin (Asarum), Chuanwu (Aconite Carle), Caowu (Aconite Kusnezoffii), Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia Root), Baizhi (Angelica Dahurica), Chuanxiong (Ligusticum Chuanxiong), Bohe (Mint), and Cangzhu (Atractylodes Rhizome); take 0.5 qian each of Nanxing (Arisaema Cum Bile) and Xionghuang (Realgar). Grind all ingredients into an extremely fine powder. Mix with hot wine for application, cover with paper to secure, and change twice daily.
