Castor seeds (Ricini Semen) are peeled and ground into a paste, mixed evenly with water from grinding rusty iron, and applied in concentric circles around the red area. Once dry, it is immediately reapplied in circles until healed.
For erysipelas starting from the back or head, juice pressed from *Allium fistulosum* var. *gaudichaudianum* (Wacon) is applied as a poultice.
Another method: Prick the red area with a needle to release foul blood. Alternatively, grind *Hanshui Shi* (Halloysitum Rubrum) into powder, mix with oil, and apply.
Additionally, fresh leaves of *Platycladi Cacumen* (Ce Bai Ye) and Wacon are pounded together, mixed with powdered *Rhei Radix et Rhizoma* (Da Huang), blended with vinegar, and applied for immediate cure.
Furthermore, for "Ghost Face Erysipelas," characterized by frequent pus and blood on the face and unbearable itching, use two qian of *Calamina* (Lu Gan Shi) [quenched three times in *Coptidis Rhizoma* (Huang Lian) juice], [text missing].
Also, for "Ant Erysipelas": Grind *Rhei Radix et Rhizoma* (Da Huang) and stir-fried *Manis Squama* (Chuan Shan Jia) into powder, mix with juice from *Euphorbia lathyris* seed (Mu Bei Zi), and apply.
Also, for "[Missing Character] Erysipelas": For cases with abdominal masses and alternating chills and fever, pound one liang of *Coicis Radix* (Yi Yi Ren Gen), decoct with one cup of water and one cup of wine, and take on an empty stomach; cured after two doses.
Also, for "Head-Embracing Erysipelas": First, use a stone lancet to bleed out the fire-toxic blood. Then, mix equal parts of stir-fried black *Gardeniae Fructus* (Shan Zhi), *Rhei Radix et Rhizoma* (Da Huang), and *Realgar* (Xiong Huang) into powder, mix with water, and apply. Alternatively, mix *Realgar* with egg white and apply; also effective.
Also, for "Water Snake Erysipelas": Use *Caosin Tu* (Furnacis Argilla) ground with water for application. After a short while, when the moisture dries and the medicine becomes damp again, it indicates that the toxic fluid from the blisters is being expelled; once fully drained, it heals. If previously punctured, add equal parts of *Liuyi San* (Six-One Powder) for application to form scabs.
In infants under one year old, if red wandering wind occurs, appearing like painted cinnabar on the skin, it is called Dan. All purple-red Dan tumors are generally caused by maternal blood heat retained in the fetus, with heat-toxin accumulating in the interstices; or due to the nursing mother's preference for alcohol, spicy foods, and fried items; or wrapping the infant in freshly heated clothes, causing tender skin to contract heat-toxin. Cases on the limbs are easy to treat; those entering the abdomen or scrotum are difficult. Those on the head, face, chest, and back, accompanied by burning sensation, irritability, and distension, were anciently termed "entering the heart" and are fatal. Treatment involves mixing *Muxiao* (Natrii Sulfas), *Rhei Radix et Rhizoma* (Da Huang), and *Qingdai* (Indigo Naturalis) into powder, applying with fresh well water. Alternatively, apply juice from *Musa Basjoo* root (Bajiao Gen); reapply when dry. In winter, warming the application slightly before use is excellent.
For both red and white Dan toxicity, if cold-natured topical medicines fail, grind *Caosin Tu* (Furnacis Argilla) into fine powder, mix with oil rendered from cooked egg yolks, and apply; this is highly effective.
Additionally, for infant fire-toxin red wandering: Grind earthworm feces from leek fields, mix with sesame oil, and rub for immediate cure; or use calcined earthworm ash with a little borneol, mixed with egg white for application; also effective.
Additionally, for infant red wandering erysipelas spreading over the whole body to the heart and chest (uncurable): Dissolve *Mangxiao* (Natrii Sulfas) in warm water, take the concentrated liquid to wipe the erysipelas; highly effective.
Additionally, take thirty eggs, boil them, remove whites, and fry the yolks to extract oil; apply the oil for immediate effect. Method: Fry yolks until black to release the oil naturally.
Another prescription: Three qian of refined *Realgar* (Xiong Huang), one and a half qian of *Ren Zhong Bai* (Human Waste Deposit), five fen of *Qingdai* (Indigo Naturalis), three fen of borneol, all ground into fine powder. Mix with six qian of earthworm feces (thick ones preferred; one liang if wet), ground finely. Blend with urine from a healthy boy and apply several times until cured; severe cases require application for several days.
Another prescription: Grind bricks from the bottom of old cesspits into powder, mix with sesame oil for application; extremely effective.
Additionally, applying eel blood is also effective. Internal decoction required: Five fen each of *Trichosanthis Radix* (Tian Hua Fen), raw *Rhei Radix et Rhizoma* (Da Huang), and *Akebiae Caulis* (Chuan Tong Cao), decocted in water and taken orally.
Another prescription: Three qian each of *Phellodendri Cortex* (Huang Bo) and *Rhei Radix et Rhizoma* (Da Huang), one qian of *Coptidis Rhizoma* (Huang Lian), three fen of borneol, all ground into powder. Mix with bitter bile from a pig, apply to the affected area, and bind with soft silk. Also treats monkey-like chancre with miraculous effect.
Additionally, newborns with redness and赤 (redness) on hands and feet are named "Wandering Flow Fire." If it spreads from feet to lower abdomen or from hands to chest, it is often incurable; urgently use this formula. Take as much *Kalimeris Indica* (Ma Lan Tou) as needed, wash off mud, pound and squeeze juice, apply to the lesion; reapply when dry; repeatedly used with repeated efficacy. Roots can be used in winter when leaves are absent.
Another prescription: Pound large or small Chinese cabbage and apply as a poultice.
Additionally, grind carbonized shells of wild water caltrop (*Trapa natans*) into powder, mix with sesame oil, and rub; both are extremely miraculous.
