For symptoms such as diarrhea leading to yellowish complexion and emaciation, and loss of appetite, decoct Erliang (2 liang) of Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma) stir-fried with soil, along with Baifuling (Poria), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Lianrou (Nelumbinis Semen, heart removed), Jiubaishao (Bai Shao prepared with wine), Shanyao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma), and Xiangfu (Cyperi Rhizoma, not baked in flour).
If vomiting and diarrhea persist without early treatment, it may transform into Slow Convulsion Syndrome. Decoct Xiaodingxiang (Caryophylli Flos) and Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) in equal proportions for immediate cure.
Another prescription: Use Jiaobaizhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma charred), 1 liang; Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), 8 qian; Shenqu (Massa Medicata Fermentata), Maiya (Hordei Fructus Germinatus), and Shan Zha Rou (Crataegi Fructus flesh), each 7 qian; Zhigancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma prepared with honey), 5 qian. Grind all into powder, form pills the size of a longan fruit using paste made from old rice. Take one pill per dose, washed down with old rice soup; if complicated by wind-cold, wash down with Zisu (Perillae Folium) and Gange (Puerariae Radix) soup.
Additionally, for vomiting and diarrhea caused by summerheat: Collect leaves of Ce Bai Ye (Platycladi Cacumen) growing in shade, crush them in well water to extract juice, add three teaspoons of honey, mix well, and administer orally.
Burn Lian Di (Nelumbinis Plumula) and Sigua (Luffae Fructus Retinervus) until carbonized but retaining medicinal properties, grind into powder. Take 3 qian per dose, mixed with warm wine; three doses will eliminate the condition.
Decoct Ai Ye (Artemisiae Argyi Folium) in water, drink one or two cups for recovery.
Crush Jiucui Gen (Allii Tuberosi Radix) to extract juice, decoct with Zhizhi (Porci Adeps) and take orally.
First, wash the umbilicus with a decoction of Jingjie (Schizonepetae Herba). Then, take one jin (500g) of Congye (Allii Fistulosi Folium), roast over fire, place on the ground to dissipate fire heat, scrape the flesh thin with fingernails, and apply to the swollen area; swelling should subside the next day.
Boil an ancient bronze mirror in water and drink the solution.
Alternatively, dry Earthworm Excrement (Qiu Yin Sha), grind into powder, mix with saliva, and apply topically.
This condition is often caused by sitting on the ground and contracting wind-dampness, or being exposed to insect/ant breath. Use Chan Tui (Cicadae Periostracum), 5 qian, decocted in one cup of water to wash the swollen area two or three times.
Alternatively, grind Tao Ren (Persicae Semen) into powder, mix with saliva, and take orally.
Alternatively, for edema of the urinary tract, use Earthworm Excrement found on leek fields, roast it, cover with a bowl on the ground to dissipate fire heat, grind into powder, mix with refined sesame oil, and apply topically.
Take 2 liang of Dongyin Gen (Radix Punicae Granati, eastern root) of Suan Shiliu (Punica Granatum), 30 grains of Nuomi (Oryza Sativa Glutinosa), decoct in one cup of water, and take on an empty stomach; this must induce diarrhea.
Another prescription for all types of worm-induced pain: Ku Lian Pi (Meliae Cortex, east-facing, remove white bark), Shi Jun Zi Rou (Quisqualis Semen flesh, half raw, half cooked), He Shi (Chrysanthemi Indici Flos, cleaned of dirt), Wu Yi (Pruni Semen), Bing Lang (Arecae Semen), Hu Fen (Cerussa, stir-fried), Lei Wan (Holostei Mass), each 1 liang.
