Take a pair of teeth from dried white fish (Bai Xiang), roasted over fire; tangerine peel (Chen Pi) stir-fried until yellow, 1 qian; borneol (Bing Pian) and musk (She Xiang), each 5 li. Grind all together into a fine powder. Place the powder into the tip of a tube made from Tian Cong (a type of scallion/garlic chive), insert into the ear, and it will heal immediately.

Drip a small amount of vegetable oil into the ear to kill the insects inside. Drip cat urine into the ear to make the insects exit naturally. Method to obtain cat urine: rub the cat's nose with fresh ginger (Sheng Jiang), causing the cat to urinate.

Another prescription: one peach kernel (Tao Ren) and one pine nut kernel (Song Zi Ren), pounded into a paste, soaked thoroughly in oil onto paper. Roll the paper into a wick and insert it into the ear; various insects will emerge upon smelling the fragrance, without need for manual excavation.

Insert Long Zhua Cong (Dragon Claw Scallion) into the ear; within a moment, the insect's tail will emerge on its own.

Burn softshell turtle shell (Bie Jia) to produce smoke and fumigate the ear; the insects will die instantly without harm. Afterwards, drink Chrysanthemum Decoction (Ju Hua Tang) for three days to resolve the pathogenic fire.

Equal parts of Phellodendron Bark (Huang Bo), calcined alum (Ku Fan), cuttlefish bone (Hai Piao Xiao), talc (Hua Shi), and dragon bone (Long Gu) are ground into powder. If the area is damp, apply the dry powder directly; if dry, mix with pig lard (Zhu You) for topical application. This yields miraculous results.

Use raw Aconite Root (Chuan Wu), soaked thoroughly in water, carved into the shape of a jujube pit, and inserted into the ear. Change three times a day (day and night) for cure. Fresh material is preferable.

Take a pinch of wood ear mushroom (Mu Er), stir-fry with vinegar, and eat mixed with white sugar.

Split bamboo that has been long immersed in pond water with a knife, and drip the water collected from the bamboo nodes into the ear.

Another prescription: Sweet Flag Rhizome (Gan Song), Sand Ginger (Shan Nai), Angelica Dahurica Root (Bai Zhi), Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizome (Chuan Xiong), Ligusticum Wallichii Rhizome (Gao Ben), Chrysanthemum Morifolium Flower (Gan Ju), Notopterygium Root (Qiang Huo), Saposhnikovia Root (Fang Feng), and Schizonepeta Spike (Jing Jie), each 1 qian; Asarum Europaeum Radix et Rhizoma (Bei Xi Xin), 5 fen. Decoct in water and take orally. Three doses can eradicate the root cause.

Another prescription: Radish Seed (Lai Fu Zi), 5 qian; fermented rice wine (Jiu Niang), half cup. Stir-fry until dry, spread as a poultice on the painful area; pain stops in a moment.

Another prescription: Arctium Lappa Seed (Niu Bang Zi), 1 liang, stir-fried and ground into powder. For each dose, decoct 3 qian of brown sugar (Chi Sha Tang), mix with liquor (Shao Jiu), and take orally. Drink until slightly intoxicated, then cover the head with a cotton quilt to induce sweating; this cures the condition. If sweating is insufficient, finish the remaining medicine to prevent recurrence permanently.
