A person had a turtle bone stuck in their throat after eating turtle, which persisted for half a month. Various medicines were ineffective, and food and drink could not be swallowed. The whole family was in a panic. A village elder passed on a prescription: take the eyeball of a live turtle, wrap it in tofu skin (bean curd sheet), and swallow it with great effort; the condition would be cured immediately. It is also said that whenever a bone from any specific fish gets stuck, one should take the eyeball of that same live fish, wrap it in tofu skin, and swallow it with force; this method is invariably effective immediately.

Fry sesame oil until boiling, let it cool slightly to warm temperature, and take orally.

Another prescription: Crush the root of *Narcissus tazetta* var. *chinensis* (Shuixianhua) to extract juice and take orally. Or, burn chicken feathers to ash, mix with water, and take orally. Or, crush the root of *Boehmeria nivea* (Zhuma) to extract juice and drink.

Alternatively, grind ivory into liquid and drink it. Or, burn human fingernails to ash, blow the powder into the throat, and the bone will dislodge.

For various fish bones or bamboo/wood splinters stuck in the throat, take one bowl of clear water. Write "Gui Shui Hua Wei Long Xing Zai Shang" (Water of Gui transforms into a dragon moving above) with a brush dipped in thick ink on paper/water surface, and drink it in one gulp. If the bone does not pass, repeat the dosage according to the method; there are no cases where it fails to pass.

Another method: Stand facing west while looking east. Form the Sword Hand Seal (Jian Jue) with the right hand and the Three Mountain Hand Seal (San Shan Jue) with the left hand. Hold a cup of water, write a talisman on the surface of the water using the Sword Hand Seal, and have the patient swallow the talisman water; the bone will dissolve naturally.

Another talisman water method: Take one bowl of clean water. Stand facing west while looking east. Hold the bowl with the left hand, form the hand seal as described above with the right hand, recite a mantra, and write a talisman over the water in the air. Drink it; it is highly effective.

Quickly use water ground from an iron axe blade and pour it down the throat; the condition will be cured immediately.

Take blood from a rooster's comb and introduce it into the throat. Place a copper basin filled with water in front of the child. Spray cold water at the child; a coin will be vomited out and fall into the basin. Pour water into a duck, then hang the duck upside down to collect its saliva. Ingest the saliva; the bone will dissolve.

To treat all acute throat conditions generally: 1 liang of *Gleditsia sinensis* fruit (Zhu Ya Zao), 1 qian of real Musk (She Xiang), 1 qian of Plum Blossom Borneol (Meihua Bingpian), 1.5 liang of *Belamcanda chinensis* rhizome (Shegan Pian), 1.5 liang of stir-fried *Arctium lappa* seed (Chao Niubangzi), 3 liang of large *Scrophularia ningpoensis* root (Da Xuanshen), 2 liang of *Platycodon grandiflorus* root (Ku Jiegeng), 8 liang of purified Talcum (Jing Huashi), 2 qian of purified Realgar (Xionghuang), 1 liang of raw Licorice root (Sheng Gancao). Grind all ingredients into fine powder. Use good vinegar and rock sugar to refine and form pills the size of sorghum grains. Take 1 qian per dose; children take 0.7 qian. This prescription is specifically for treating all throat diseases. However, its nature is too harsh; it can only be used by those with strong constitution. It is contraindicated for weak individuals, who should instead use Yuan Shen Jiu Ku Gao.
