Insert one needle into each gallbladder, tie the duct opening tightly with cotton thread, store in a clay bottle containing sixteen taels of spring water, immerse the gallbladders and needles in the water, cover well to prevent leakage, and place in a ventilated area away from sunlight. Wait for three years until the water and bile transform into pus-like fluid. Dip this fluid and apply to the eyes daily; within approximately three months, eye cataracts will disappear and blindness will be reversed. One batch can treat two people. If prepared in advance for gifting, blessings and longevity will increase, and the merit is indeed boundless.

Xishen Shenxiao Fang (Miraculous Eye-Washing Formula): Formerly, the Prefect of Zhangde suffered from unclear vision for over twenty years with no effective treatment. Suddenly, a divine being taught him this formula, which must be prepared at noon on the Dragon Boat Festival (Duanwu Day), with efficacy as if by magic. Ten apricot leaves, one bowl of "rootless water" (rainwater collected before touching the ground), decocted until reduced to 80%, clarified, and used to wash the eyes. Adhering to the schedule for washing for one year restores eyesight to that of a child; over a hundred people have been cured. It can be treated regardless of duration up to decades, removing the root cause with no recurrence, with miraculous efficacy. However, it does not treat acute heat-fire eye infections (Shihuo Yan). Use pure clean Su Bohe (Mentha Haplocalycis Herba) leaves; for every two taels of leaves, mix with juice pressed from eight taels of old ginger, soak for one to two days, spread out, and dry in the shade. Use two qian per time, place in a cloth bag for midsummer, put into a teapot with one cup of water, boil, and wash the eyes hot three to five times daily. Keep eyes slightly open; initial washing causes slight pain, turning to itching after a few days indicates effectiveness. Replace daily in summer, every three days in winter. Ordinary garden mint is ineffective.
