This is itching caused by parasites. Use a stove, place a tile on it, sprinkle Allium tuberosum seeds (Jiucaizi) on the tile, add Sesame oil (Mayou), and steam both feet upward over the heat. Cover with cloth to prevent wind from penetrating. After a short while, the itching stops, and parasites can be seen falling onto the tile; the condition will then heal.
Another prescription: When itching occurs, apply Sulfur (Liuhuang) for rubbing. After rubbing, apply a thick layer of concentrated Sulfur, wrap with cloth, wear socks, and change once daily. The root cause will be eliminated after several days. Do not scratch or rub with hands.
This is damp-heat accumulation with parasitic infection. For mild cases, apply Sulfur for rubbing and dressing; do not scratch. It will self-heal in three days; scratching renders it ineffective. For severe cases, first decoct Sophora flavescens Radix (Kushen), Licorice Root (Gancao), Lonicerae Flos (Yinhua), Atractylodis Rhizoma (Cangzhu), Rehmanniae Radix (Shengdi), each 3 qian, and seven green onion heads (Congtou), in water. Wash once daily. Separately, take Lead monoxide (Hudan), Realgar (Mingxiong), and Talcum (Huashi), each 1 qian, grind into fine powder resembling incense ash (coarse powder causes pain upon application) and apply to the affected area. If frequent washing is maintained, medication application is optional. Additionally, decoct Coix Seed (Yimi) 2 liang and Poria (Fuling) 1 liang, take orally for three doses (do not overdose). Even if the lesion is ulcerated exposing bone, it remains effective. If the condition persists for a long time, applying Leg White Ointment (Tuibu Baiyougao) is highly effective. Both feet should always be kept flat and elevated. Even during urination or defecation, feet must not touch the ground; otherwise, ulceration is inevitable. One must endure the itching and strictly avoid scratching. Each scratch leads to days of ulceration. It is better to allow serous fluid to form, suppurate, and scab over; within seven to eight days, healing invariably occurs. This has been repeatedly tested and verified. Once scabs have formed, do not wash. Additionally, Alum (Kufan) causes pain when applied and must not be used.
Another prescription: Use old ham bones, rinse salt taste away with rice washing water (Mixiangshui), burn until charred, grind into powder, and apply. Immediate effect.
Another prescription: Apply Niuya San (see prescriptions for carbuncles and toxins). Extremely efficacious.
Another prescription: During daily foot washing, dry the feet thoroughly, delay wearing socks, and this affliction will be avoided.
True Tung oil (Zhen Tongyou) heated, one drop applied to hair causes immediate hair fall. Endure pain for a moment, and it heals.
One handful of Willow leaf (Liuye), three Almond kernels (Xingren), 2 qian of Alum (Kufan), pound together into a paste and apply. Highly effective.
Another case: A person suffered swelling and pain in the heel, unrecognized by various physicians. Xu Zhicai stated: This is "Clam Essence Disease" (Gejing Ji). It was contracted by hanging feet in seawater while boarding a ship. Two clams were surgically extracted, and the patient healed.
