Growing on the toes, shaped like a corn (Jiyan), hence commonly known as "chicken eye." The root is sunken into the flesh, while the top protrudes, becoming hard and painful, making walking difficult. It can be caused by foot binding or walking long distances in narrow shoes. Initially, it is advisable to use meat from a Chinese plum (Wumei) and lychee fruit, pounded into a paste, applied to the affected area, which will naturally resolve. If it persists for a long time without healing, it is advisable to apply Centipede Powder (Wugong San). Take one centipede (Wugong) and an equal amount of Borax (Pengsha), grind them into powder, bury them underground for seven days, then take them out. Use a silver hairpin to dab the powder onto the lesion, causing it to detach.
Another prescription: Take one centipede (Wugong), soak it in alkaline water for half a day, dry it, then soak again. Repeat this process seven times, finally dry and grind into powder. Sprinkle this powder onto a plaster and apply overnight to extract the root.
Alternatively, first soak with hot water, scrape off a layer, then stir-fry black wood ear mushroom (Heimuer) until cooked, grind it, and apply it to the affected area. It will naturally resolve without pain.
In severe cases, the heel becomes red, swollen, ulcerated, and weeps fluid. Use one sheet of Guangdong Sheepskin Gold Paper (Yangpi Jinzhi). Cut it into the shape of a plaster according to the size of the lesion. Apply it with the gold side facing the wound. Healing occurs after one night. This is extremely effective; do not underestimate it. It is also effective for treating frostbite (Dongchuang) and traumatic injuries (Diepu Sunshang). Sheepskin Gold Paper should be well-stocked in military camps.
One tael of White Beeswax (Baila) and three qian of Picrasma Rhizome (Tenghuang) are melted in Sesame Oil (Mayou) and applied to the injured area for immediate healing. This prescription stops pain and bleeding, and is effective for contusions (Dashang) as well as scalds and burns (Tanghuoshang).
Burn mouse feces (Shufen) to ash, grind into powder, mix with Sesame Oil (Xiangyou), and apply for immediate healing.
On the morning of Lixia (Start of Summer), crush cherries and rub them onto the affected area more than ten times. This can eradicate the root cause, preventing frostbite (Dongchuang) from recurring forever, with miraculous efficacy.
First wash and dry the feet thoroughly. Crush several river snails (Tianluo), apply the paste to the affected area, and healing occurs after one night.
Remove the shell and skin of triangular white ginkgo nuts (Baiguo), soak them in vegetable oil, pound into a cake, and apply to the affected area. Healing occurs within two days.
Take the heart of Amaranthus retroflexus (Huixiancai) found by the roadside, and rub it on the red and swollen area several times for healing.
This condition often arises because the feet do not sweat, leading to blister-like sores that feel piercing. Two qian of Kudzu Root (Gegen) and one liang of Amaranth Spines (Xiancaici) are decocted in water. Washing the area several times leads to healing.
Two qian of Chicken Heart Wax (Jixinla), five fen of Galangal Powder (Liangjiangmo), and five fen of Turmeric Powder (Jianghuangmo) are crushed together, heated until sticky, and dripped onto the affected area for healing.
Coldness of the hands and feet, muscle spasms (Zhuanjin) extending into the abdomen, accompanied by phlegm obstruction (Tan Yong), sweating, and cold breath nearing collapse. Use two packs of fried salt. Use one pack to moxa-iron (Yun) the chest and abdomen, allowing the heat to penetrate. Use the other pack to iron the back until the hands and feet warm up. Then, take Zanthoxylum Fructus (Dingxiang) and White Cardamom Seed (Baidoukou) in equal amounts, grind into powder, and take one qian mixed with ginger soup. For those with severe cold, the number of doses is unrestricted.
Another prescription: Three to four liang of Evodia Fruit (Wuzhuyu) mixed with several taels of edible salt, stir-fried until hot, and applied to iron the area below the navel is also effective.
