Postpartum labor injury caused by blood loss, combined with improper nursing care, leads to bone-steaming consumption fever. If it is a wealthy family, although there are good food and medicinal power for nursing, there must be other matters that are not satisfactory, causing anger to stir up liver fire, consuming the newly generated blood, which can also lead to reduced diet, deficiency, emaciation, and body fatigue. Moreover, women who have just given birth originally belong to blood deficiency, with very little blood generated; once injured and consumed, yin-blood becomes even more deficient, how can it not become internal heat and bone-steaming? Even for common people, not only are there no good foods and medicines to nourish qi and blood, but they also breastfeed their children themselves, so how can the newly generated blood suddenly become sufficient? If the constitution is originally thin and weak, how can it not become yin-deficiency internal heat and form bone-steaming? Therefore, to treat postpartum weakness, Shen Gui Tang (Ginseng and Angelica Decoction) is used. For alternating chills and fever, Bai Fu Ling San (Poria Powder) is used. For mixed deficiency symptoms forming Ru Lao (postpartum consumption), Bie Jia Tang (Turtle Shell Decoction) is used. For feeling weak without obvious disease, Shi Quan Da Bu Tang (Ten Significant Tonifying Decoction) or Dang Gui Yang Rou Tang (Angelica and Mutton Decoction) is used. Some treatments for postpartum bone-steaming involve first taking Qing Gu San (Bone-Clearing Powder), then Bao Zheng Tang (Protect Uprightness Decoction); additionally, Jia Wei Da Zao Wan (Modified Great Creation Pill) can also treat bone-steaming consumption fever. *Yi Tong* states: Postpartum Ru Lao is extreme fatigue of sinews and muscles, worry and mental labor causing deficiency. For spleen deficiency and weak blood, with abdominal pain and irregular menstruation, Gui Pi Tang (Restore the Spleen Decoction) uses doubled Mu Xiang (Costus Root). For blood deficiency with heat, Zeng Sun Chai Hu Tang (Modified Bupleurum Decoction) is used. For bone-steaming consumption fever with cough having a menstrual cycle context (or specific course), Yi Gong San (Master Yi's Powder) removes Bai Zhu (Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome) and adds Shan Yao (Dioscorea Rhizome), Dan Pi (Moutan Cortex), Wu Wei Zi (Schisandra Berry), E Jiao (Donkey-Hide Gelatin), and Tong Bian (Child's Urine). For heat without phlegm, dry cough, Xiao Yao San (Free and Easy Wanderer Powder) is used, with honey-fried ginger and orange, and honey-steamed Bai Zhu (Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome).
