This condition is characterized by the wound having closed, yet pus continuing to flow endlessly from a nearby opening. In other cases, it may originate on the neck and persist, subsequently appearing on the soles of the feet; this is colloquially known as "rat children digging holes," and the prognosis is particularly grave. Treatment: Take one rat, remove the hair, and pound it into a paste. Take a clump of tangled hair. Render fat from fatty ham meat to extract oil. Add the rat paste and tangled hair to the oil and boil until they are completely dissolved/consumed. Apply half of this mixture to the wound opening, and take the other half mixed with wine orally. This yields miraculous efficacy. Strictly avoid consuming rat, goose, or rabbit meat thereafter to prevent recurrence.
Another prescription: Xama San (Toad Powder) (see section on various formulas for carbuncles and toxins), applied externally with extreme efficacy.
Another prescription: Calcine the skull of an old cat, grind into powder, and mix with Sesame Oil (Sesamum indicum) for topical application; effective. Alternatively, applying Python Oil (from Python bivittatus) is also effective.
Another prescription: Decoct Cortex Dictamni (Bai Xian Pi) in water and drink one to two bowls. One should expect to vomit foul matter resembling "rat children." Even if pus has already drained, this remains effective. This is a formula from Ge Xianweng.

In one case, a large bone grew inside a carbuncle. The patient was cured by grinding the bottom board of an old, rotten coffin into powder, rolling it in paper, burning it, and fumigating the area with the smoke. Alternatively, fumigating with burned dry dog feces is also excellent. For various sores that fail to heal long after pus drainage, there must be multiple bones inside. Use Tuche San (Cart-Pushing Powder): Dynastes hercules (Scarab Beetle), commonly known as cart-pushing insect or dung-beetle, roasted... [text fragment].
Another prescription: Take one black-bone hen, remove the meat, take the raw bones, and calcine them to charcoal. Then, scrape one tael of dirt/debris from the bottoms of steamers and cutting boards used by three neighboring households, burn them until charred, grind everything together into a fine powder, and pack it into the wound. The fragmented bones will be expelled entirely, leading to recovery.
Another prescription: Grind Litharge (Mi Tuo Seng) into powder, mix with Tung Oil (Verniciae Folium Oil) to a thick consistency, spread on cloth, and apply as a plaster; very effective.
Another prescription: Take one large toad, a clump of tangled hair the size of an egg, and half a jin (approx. 500g) of lard. Boil until charred, strain the dregs, and further refine into an ointment. First, wash the lesion with a decoction of Mulberry Root Bark (Sanggen) and Aconite (Wutou). Sprinkle Fossilia Ossis Mastodi (Dragon Bone) powder around the edges of the wound, then apply this ointment. Change once daily. Recovery occurs when all bones have been expelled.
