If a child aged five or six cannot speak, it is due to insufficiency of Heart Qi (vital energy of the Heart) and weakness of the tongue root, resulting in difficulty in speech. Moxibustion should be applied to Xinshu (BL-15, Heart Shu), three moxa cones. The cone size should be like that of a wheat grain. The acupoint is located in the depression one and a half cun lateral to the lower border of the fifth thoracic vertebra.
If a child suffers from dysentery with passage of red and white pus and blood, rectal prolapse in late autumn, and unbearable abdominal pain during each defecation, moxibustion should be applied to the interspace below the twelfth thoracic vertebra, named Jieji (GV-8). Apply one moxa cone.
Afterward, test by wiping with clean silk; occasionally, worm-like particles resembling those of intestinal parasites may be seen discharging with the fluid. This method is extraordinarily effective. *Qibo's Moxibustion Methods* states: To treat pediatric rectal prolapse and bloody stool, if the condition persists into deep autumn, apply one moxa cone to Weitui (GV-1, Tailbone End). The cone size should be like that of a wheat grain. Weiqi refers to the terminal bone of the spine.

If a child suffers from pox (a rash disease) invading the eyes, moxibustion should be applied to Dazhu (BL-11, Great Vertebra) at both acupoints, one moxa cone for each. The acupoints are located in the depressions one and a half cun lateral to the lower border of the first thoracic vertebra at the back of the neck.
If a child suffers from unclear vision due to milk accumulation (pediatric indigestion forming a mass), moxibustion should be applied to Jianzhongshu (BL-13, Middle of Shoulder Shu) at both acupoints, one moxa cone for each. The acupoints are located in the depression two cun lateral to the spine, at the medial border of the scapula. The cone size should be like that of a wheat grain.
If a child suffers from epilepsy (specifically "sheep epilepsy" characterized by staring eyes, protruding tongue, and bleating sounds), moxibustion should be applied to the interspace below the ninth thoracic vertebra, three moxa cones. The cone size should be like that of a wheat grain.
