Yazhi Du (Poison at the Finger Web) arises within the webbing of the thumb, caused by the accumulation and retention of damp-heat. Initially, when swelling and hardness are felt, moxibustion should be applied immediately for instant cure. Otherwise, applying a mixture of pig bile and Xionghuang (Realgar) is also effective.

If the swelling is severe and has ulcerated, apply Liuwei Fudu San (Six-Ingredient Poultice for Poison).

Liuwei Fudu San (Six-Ingredient Poultice for Poison)
Composed of Xionghuang (Realgar), Piaoxiao (Cuttlefish Bone), Longquan Fen (Longquan Powder), Baiji (Bletilla Rhizome), Ruxiang (Frankincense), and Dahuang (Rhubarb Root and Rhizome).
Grind all ingredients into powder. Mix with wine or egg white for topical application. Effective.

Jiehou Fengyong (Wind Abscess at the Adam's Apple) occurs between the Adam's apple, known as the "First Pass of the Sea Gate." Its toxicity is most critical, arising from the flaming upward of fire-heat from the Heart, Liver, Spleen, Lung, and Kidney, where toxic vapors attack the throat. If presenting as external symptoms of Houyong (Throat Abscess), it is suitable to take Neituo Liuqi Yin (Internal Support Flowing Qi Decoction), externally apply Wanling Gao (Myriad Efficacy Plaster) and Shengji San (Generate Flesh Powder). Do not use a needle to puncture it yourself, lest it lead to critical danger. If presenting as internal symptoms of Houfeng (Throat Wind), there must be aversion to cold, with or without swelling, phlegm-saliva obstruction, and severe pain, or inability to swallow even slightly. In such cases, prick the Shaoshang (LU-11) acupoint with a three-edged needle to bleed out and drain the toxin, then immediately administer Ganjie Tang (Licorice and Platycodon Decoction). If the disease progression is severe, administer Huadu Tang (Resolve Toxin Decoction), or grind the medicine into powder and insufflate it into the throat. If accompanied by aversion to cold, lower back pain, and fever, it is named Houbi Shanghan (Throat Closure Cold Damage), suitable for dispersing the exterior using Neituo Liuqi Yin (see formula above), or alternatively administering Ganjie Tang.

Ganjie Tang (Licorice and Platycodon Decoction)
Composed of Renshen (Ginseng Root), Jiegen (Platycodon Root), Gancao (Licorice Root), Shegan (Belamcanda Rhizome), Shengma (Cimicifuga Rhizome), Niuzi (Arctium Fruit), Jingjiesui (Schizonepeta Spike), and Shandougen (Sophora Tonkinensis Root).
Steep all in boiling water, using Baibufeng (Baibufeng Herb) as the guide drug. Treats internal conditions.

Shiwei Huadu Tang (Ten-Ingredient Resolve Toxin Decoction)
Jiegen (Platycodon Root) 5 qian, Boheye (Mint Leaf) 2 qian, Jingjie (Schizonepeta) 3.5 qian, Gancao (Licorice Root) 2 qian, Shandougen (Sophora Tonkinensis Root) 2.5 qian, Yazao (Tamarix Twig) 2 qian, Pengsha (Borax) 2 qian, Mangxiao (Mirabilite) 3 qian, Chencha (Cinnabar) 2 qian, Xionghuang (Realgar) 2 qian.
Grind finely into powder. Insufflate into the throat or take with water. Treats internal conditions.

Shiwuwei Xidu San (Fifteen-Ingredient Wash Toxin Powder)
Taoren (Peach Kernel, peeled and removed of tips, ground), Xionghuang (Realgar), Chuanjia (Pangolin Scale, stir-fried until scorched), Zhike (Aurantium Fruit, bran-fried), Xuanshen (Scrophularia Root, ground with wine), Binglang (Areca Seed, ground with wine), Jiegeng (Platycodon Root), Honghua (Safflower, wine-fried), Chishao (Red Peony Root, raw), Muxiang (Costus Root, ground with water), Gancao (Licorice Root, raw), Zexie (Alisma Rhizome, lightly fried), Danpi (Moutan Cortex). Use Zaocishi (Tamarisk Spine) as the guide drug.
For purgation, add Dahuang (Rhubarb Root and Rhizome) 4 qian, boil one or two more times, then take. For both internal and external use.

Qiwei Chuibi San (Seven-Ingredient Insufflate Nose Powder)
Specifically treats Ji Houfeng (Acute Throat Wind).
Xiaoyazao (Small Tamarix Twig) 3 fen, Mingxiong (Bright Realgar) 6 fen, Quanxieshao (Whole Scorpion Tail, dried by roasting) 6 pieces, Lilu (Veratrum Root) 1.5 qian, Yaxiao (Saltpeter) 1 liang, Shexiang (Musk) 1 fen, Shengfan (Raw Alum) 3 fen.
Grind into fine powder. Insufflate into the nose; expectoration of phlegm-saliva will lead to self-healing.

Another Prescription
Use fresh juice extracted from Cichong (Stinging Insect, named Quebuta), or three to five dried Qingyudan (Green Fish Gallbladder, collected in the twelfth lunar month) roasted dry, mixed with Jiumi (Fermented Rice Wine) into powder, use 3 fen, add Bingpian (Borneol) 5 li, Shexiang (Musk) 3 li.
Quickly insufflate into the throat for immediate effect. This is a miraculous prescription for treating Ji Houfeng (Acute Throat Wind).

External Prescriptions
Prescription for treating various bones stuck in the throat: Crush the root of Yuzanhua (Tricyrtis Root) to extract juice, and instill into the throat using a pen tube. Very effective.

Another Prescription
Crush the root of Jin Fengxianhua (Impatiens Balsamina Root, i.e., Red Balsam) to extract juice, mix with vinegar, boil for several minutes, store in a spouted bottle, and instill while lying supine. The bone will come out.

Another Prescription
Crush the root of Weilingxian (Clematis Root) to extract juice, boil with vinegar. Swallow method same as above.
The roots of these two flowers must not touch the teeth.

Another Prescription
Hongpi (Red Arsenic) 3 fen, made into pills with Nuomi (Glutinous Rice), coated with Tonglv (Malachite), taken down with Jiangtang (Ginger Decoction), causing immediate vomiting.

Another Prescription
If the throat is injured by a bone splinter, forming blood blisters that gradually enlarge over an hour, tightly blocking the throat so nothing can enter or exit, quickly use Yazao (Tamarix Twig) 3 fen, Danfan (Chalcanthite) 0.5 fen, Bingpian (Borneol) 5 li, Shexiang (Musk) 5 li. Grind into extremely fine powder and insufflate into the throat two or three times. The blister will break, blood will flow out, and healing will occur.

Another Prescription
If children accidentally swallow grain husks or thorns, urgently take E Kou Xian (Goat Mouth Saliva) and swallow. Very effective. To obtain saliva, hang the goose upside down and collect the saliva.
All the above prescriptions can be used for both adults and children.
