Nei Zhou Du (Internal Elbow Toxicity) arises on the medial posterior aspect of the elbow, caused by the stagnation of hot blood in the six meridians. In the initial stage, take Muxiang Baidu Yin (Costus Root Decoction for Resolving Toxins) internally, and apply Shangqing Xiaodu San (Upper Clearing and Detoxifying Powder) externally. If swelling occurs or it ulcerates, apply Wanling Gao (Ten Thousand Spirits Ointment), which can lead to recovery.
Wai Zhou Du (External Elbow Toxicity) arises on the lateral posterior aspect of the elbow and is treated identically to Nei Zhou Du.
Shiwei Muxiang Baidu Yin (Ten-Ingredient Costus Root Decoction for Resolving Toxins)

Preparation: Grind all ingredients into fine powder. Mix with egg white and apply to the affected area.
Nei Huai Sore (Internal Ankle Sore) arises on the medial side of the ankle bone, caused by damp-heat, or resulting from skin rupture due to trauma leading to ulceration. Pain and itching vary. It is advisable to wash the area with water boiled with roasted salt and pepper tea, then fumigate the area with burning tung oil paper. Subsequently, melt one qian of beeswax, five qian of sesame oil, and half a qian of calcined alum in a pot, spread the mixture onto oil paper to form an ointment patch, and apply it. Once the pus has drained completely, apply Shengji San (Flesh-Generating Powder).
Erwei Fu Fang (Two-Ingredient External Application Formula)
Herbs: Piaoxiao (Cuttlebone) one qian, Kufan (Calcined Alum) half a qian.
Preparation: Grind into powder. Wash the area with pepper-salt water before application.
Another Prescription
Herbs: Xionghuang (Realgar), Zhu Dan (Pig Gallbladder).
Preparation: Mix with tung oil and apply. This is also effective.
Wai Huai Sore (External Ankle Sore) arises on the bone directly opposite the ankle. The washing method is the same as above. Whether internal or external, if the sore persists for years without healing, it may become a stubborn chronic sore or toxic accumulation, leading to leg ulcers. If the patient has deficient blood and engages in wading labor, or washes/bathes excessively, the blood vessels become turbid and stagnant, causing pain in the sores, or severe pain at night, because Ying Blood (Nutritive Blood) circulates in the Yin during the night. Patients must regulate their diet. Chicken can generate wind, fish can assist fire, and pork is Yang in nature and also assists fire; thus, these should be avoided with caution. The treatment method should primarily focus on Toli Liuqi Yin (Interior-Supporting Qi-Circulating Decoction) to harmonize blood. For pain relief, applying Zelan Ye (Drynariae Rhizoma leaves/Prunella vulgaris leaves depending on context, here likely Prunella/Zelan) externally is very effective.
Shiba Wei Toli Liuqi Yin (Eighteen-Ingredient Interior-Supporting Qi-Circulating Decoction)

Dosage: Equal parts according to the patient's size and deficiency/excess condition.
Administration: Use fresh ginger as a guide. Decoct in water and take on an empty stomach. After taking, apply Sanbai Gao (Three Whites Ointment).
Sanbai Gao (Three Whites Ointment)
Ingredients: Baisha (Beeswax) one qian, Qingfen (Calomel) one qian, Zhuyou (Pig Fat) three liang.
Preparation: Pound until soft, spread on oil paper, and apply. Before applying Sanbai Gao, use old candle mud (the residue from burnt candles), pound it finely, mix with water, spread it thinly over the lesion like a cake. Place two rushes across it to create a water channel. Burn two sticks of aged mugwort on the mud cake. Moxibustion should continue until the sensation shifts from pain to itch, and from itch to pain, then stop. Then apply Sanbai Gao.
Wubao Dan (Five Treasures Pill)
Ingredients: Zhongru (Stalactitum) three qian (calcined), Bingpian (Borneolum Syntheticum) two fen, Hupo (Amber) three qian five fen, Zhenzhu (Margarita) two fen, Zhusha (Cinnabar) two fen, Huaimian (Ash Flour) three qian.
Preparation: Grind all six ingredients into powder. Divide into twelve portions. Externally, use six jin of Tubervine Root (Tufuling/Tu Fuling). Boil half a jin of Tufuling into a thick decoction. Each night, take one portion of the pill, place it in the palm, suck it, and swallow with the Tufuling decoction. The next day, drink the remaining decoction as tea. Avoid salt for twelve days and avoid all stimulating foods (Fa Wu).
Another Prescription
When the sore first appears, wrap Ruxiang (Olibanum), Moyao (Myrrha), Piaoxiao (Cuttlebone), and Aiye (Mugwort Leaf) in blue cloth, roll into a cylinder, or soak in tung oil or sesame oil. Fumigate around the four sides of the sore. The goal is to transform pain into itch and itch into pain through fumigation. Then apply a mixture of Xionghuang (Realgar) and Zhu Dan (Pig Gallbladder). Washing with Zelan (Prunella vulgaris) decoction is also good.
Another Prescription
Effective for both internal and external ankle sores. Wrap aged mugwort in sticky millet grass and fumigate several times. Then wash the sore with a decoction of green onion, pepper, roasted salt, and Wujia Pi (Acanthopanacis Cortex). Next, burn pine joints to charcoal, grind into ash, mix with sesame oil, and apply. Cover with umbrella paper, prick several holes in the paper to touch the skin. If it dries out, moisten with oil.
Another Prescription
Take Baicaoshuang (Soot) alone, chew it into a paste on an empty stomach, and apply.
Siwei Fu Fang (Four-Ingredient External Application Formula)
Ingredients: Xu Pi (Boot Leather), quantity unspecified. Charcoal-process to retain properties, grind into powder. Add Ruxiang (Olibanum), Moyao (Myrrha), Binglang (Arecae Semen), Xuexie (Dragon's Blood).
