Aborescent carbuncle of the ear root occurs below the ear root and above the gum, caused by excessive fire in the Shaoyang (Lesser Yang) and Yangming (Yang Brightness) meridians. At the initial stage, apply Shenxian Fudu Shixiao Bing (Immortal's Poison-Dispelling and Regret-Overcoming Plaster), and moxa the Jiache (St6) and Jianjing (GB21) acupoints, three moxa cones each.
