Treats edema. The true fire of the Heart and Kidney can generate the true earth of the Spleen and Lung. Now, due to the deficiency of true fire qi, it fails to nourish the true earth; thus, earth fails to control water, causing water fluids to flow recklessly. The Sanjiao (Triple Burner) fails to excrete, qi and vessels become blocked, the pivot mechanism is obstructed, leading to panting and urgency, water qi overflowing and permeating the meridians, skin swelling and fullness, especially severe in the lower legs and calves, swelling under both eyes, coldness between the thighs, bitter taste in the mouth and dry tongue, hardness and distension of the heart and abdomen, inability to lie flat on the back, coughing when lying down, difficulty in urination, false fright in dreams, and inability to rest peacefully.
Prepared Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), 2 liang; Nanmuxiang (Costimodendri Ramulus), roasted; Huixiang (Foeniculi Fructus), stir-fried; Chuanjiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium), stir-fried until sweat appears; Duhuo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix); Nongpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex), peeled, sliced, processed with ginger juice and stir-fried; Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), slightly stir-fried; Chenju pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium); Wuzhuyu (Evodiae Fructus), stir-fried; Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex), each 1 liang; Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma), 1.5 liang; Roudoukou (Myristicae Semen), roasted; Binglang (Arecae Semen), each 0.5 liang.
Grind the above thirteen ingredients into powder, mix with paste to make pills the size of wutong seeds. Take 50 pills per dose, washed down with Zisu decoction (Perilla Decoction), at any time. This prescription has been passed down in the world and proven effective repeatedly, never previously revealed to others. The arrangement of sovereign, minister, assistant, and courier herbs mirrors the subtlety of creation; those who take it will know naturally. One must discontinue other medications, take this three times a day. Initially, bowel movements will flow freely like pouring water, followed by the reduction of edema and cessation of panting. The medicine assists the true fire to nourish the true earth and mobilizes the pivot mechanism, ensuring peace and recovery. The regimen requires abstinence from sexual activity and avoidance of salty foods for half a year to prevent recurrence.
Treatment principles remain as above.
Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), washed; Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix), roasted; Chi Fuling (Poria with Red Wood), equal parts; Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex); Binglang (Arecae Semen); Chi Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra); Mudanpi (Moutan Cortex); Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium); Mutong (Akebiae Caulis); Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma). Grind all ingredients, bake until dry, and use equal proportions.
Grind the above into powder. For swelling of the feet, knees, head, and face, along with discomfort in urination and defecation, take 2 qian per dose. Use one sheng of water, add two leaves of Zisu (Perilla Folium) and one slice of Dan Mugua (Chaenomelis Fructus, size of a finger), decoct together until reduced to 0.8 sheng. Take warm, three times daily. If cured, continue taking it morning and evening, twice daily; feeling qi descend or urine flow smoothly indicates efficacy. If there is internal cold, remove Binglang; if the umbilicus protrudes, add Dafupi (Tsaoko Fructus Pericarpium) and Mu Zhuling (Polyporus), each 1 liang. Avoid black chicken meat, salty and sour foods, and seafood.
