Since there are husband and wife, there will be father and son. After marriage, one must seek the continuation of descendants. Therefore, the sages said that among the three types of unfilial conduct, having no descendants is the greatest. This emphasizes the extreme importance of continuing the lineage. Anyone wishing to conceive should first examine whether the husband and wife suffer from exhaustion, internal injury, or chronic diseases. According to the prescriptions, they should undergo treatment to make the interior and exterior harmonious and peaceful, so that the woman may easily conceive.

For treating women who have never given birth since adulthood, or those who have been infertile for thirty years after the cessation of menstruation.
Poxiao (Natrii Sulfas), Mudanpi (Moutan Cortex), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, steamed for the duration of a meal), Taoren (Persicae Semen, skin and tip removed with hot water, stir-fried with flour, each 0.5 liang), Xixin (Asari Radix, radix removed), Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, coarse bark removed, sliced, stir-fried with ginger juice), Chishao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Renshen (Ginseng Radix), Fuling (Poria), Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus, bark removed), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried), Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix, soaked in wine), Ju pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium; above herbs each 3 qian 1 zi), Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, processed, skin and navel removed, 1 liang), Mengchong (Blatta Orientalis, mouth and wings removed, stir-fried until scorched), Renshi (Hirudo, cut and stir-fried, above two each 40 pieces).
Grind the above ingredients into a coarse powder. Take 4 da qian per dose, decoct with 1.5 zhan of water and 1.5 zhan of wine until reduced to 6 fen, remove the dregs, and take on an empty stomach. Take three times during the day and once at night. Keep warm after taking. If slight sweating occurs, accumulated blood stasis and cold red pus resembling mung bean juice will be discharged. Adjust according to the extent of discharge; if the patient is weak and unable to endure, stop after one or two doses. However, it is feared that evil substances may not be completely expelled, preventing the full efficacy of the medicine. It is best to complete the course for optimal results; if not possible, use Zudao Yao (Sitting Suppository Medicine).

For treating total infertility and amenorrhea, if Evil Substances are not fully expelled after taking the preceding Dangbao Tang, use this prescription.
Zaojiao (Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus, skin and seeds removed), Wuzhuyu (Evodiae Fructus), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix; above each 1 liang), Xixin (Asari Radix, radix removed), Wuweizi (Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma, processed; above each 2 liang), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, steamed), Fanshi (Alum, calcined), Rongyan (Halite), Shujiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium; above each 0.5 liang).
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Place them in a silk bag, sized like a finger and about 3 cun long. Fill the bag with medicine and tie it securely. Insert it into the woman's vagina. Sitting or lying down is permissible, but walking should be avoided. Remove it when urinating and reinsert it afterwards. Replace with a new one once a day. Clear yellow cold discharge will definitely occur; stop when the discharge ceases. If no pathological discharge is observed, it can be inserted for ten days continuously. This is because cold evil substances in the uterus cause infertility. When the weather is cloudy and cold, pain occurs. One must wait until the disease is completely expelled before stopping; do not interrupt midway. Every morning and evening, fumigate and wash with a decoction of Kuyicai (Brassica parachinensis).
