疹毒声哑肺热壅，元参升麻有奇功，已发加减凉膈散，没后儿茶音即清。
注∶失音者，乃热毒闭塞肺窍而然也。疹初失音者，元参升麻汤主之；疹已发而失音
者，加减凉膈散主之；疹没后声哑者，儿茶散主之。

薄荷叶 生栀子 元参 连翘（去心） 生
甘草 苦桔梗 麦冬（去心） 牛蒡子（炒研） 黄芩
水煎服。

儿茶散
硼砂（二钱） 孩儿茶（五钱）
共为细末，凉水一盏，调药一匙，服之。
疹发缘何呕吐逆，火邪扰胃使之然，竹茹石膏为主治，和中清热吐能安。
注∶麻疹呕吐者，由于火邪内迫，胃气冲逆也，须以竹茹石膏汤和中清热，其吐自止。

半夏（姜制） 赤苓 陈皮 竹茹 生甘草 石膏（ ）
引用生姜水煎服。
方歌∶竹茹石膏汤治吐，半夏姜制配茯苓，陈皮竹茹生甘草，石膏火 共合成。
毒热移入大肠经，传化失常泻泄成，初起升葛汤加味，已发黄连解毒清。
注∶麻疹泻泄乃毒热移入肠胃，使传化失常也，治者切不可用温热诸剂。疹初作泻者，
以升麻葛根汤加赤苓猪苓泽泻主之；疹已出作泻者，以黄连解毒汤加赤苓木通主之。

麻疹毒邪导致声音嘶哑，是因为肺热壅盛所致，玄参升麻汤具有奇效；疹毒消退后声音嘶哑，使用儿茶散即可使声音清亮。

疹子发出为何会出现呕吐逆气？这是火邪扰乱胃气所导致的，治疗以竹茹和石膏为主，调和胃气、清除热邪，呕吐自然能安宁。
注：麻疹引起的呕吐，是由于火邪内迫，导致胃气冲逆，必须使用竹茹石膏汤来调和胃气、清除热邪，呕吐自然会停止。

半夏（姜汁炮制）、赤茯苓、陈皮、竹茹、生甘草、石膏。

毒热移入大肠经，传导变化功能失常导致泻泄形成，初起时使用升葛汤加味，疹已发出且伴有泻泄时使用黄连解毒汤清除热毒。
注：麻疹引起的泻泄，是毒热移入肠胃，导致传导变化功能失常所致，治疗者切不可使用温热性质的方剂。疹子初起发生泻泄的，以升麻葛根汤加入赤茯苓、猪苓、泽泻为主治方剂；疹子已经发出发生泻泄的，以黄连解毒汤加入赤茯苓、木通为主治方剂。
Mumps toxin (Measles toxin) causing hoarseness is due to lung heat congestion; Xuanshen Shengma Tang (Scrophulariae Radix and Cimicifugae Rhizoma Decoction) has miraculous effects. After the rash subsides, Ercha San (Child's Tea Powder) clears the voice immediately.
Note: Aphonia (loss of voice) is caused by heat-toxin blocking the lung orifices. For aphonia at the initial stage of measles, Xuanshen Shengma Tang is the primary formula; for aphonia after the rash has erupted, Jiajian Liangge San (Modified Cool the Diaphragm Powder) is the primary formula; for hoarseness after the rash has faded, Ercha San is the primary formula.

Bohe Ye (Menthae Haplocalycis Folium), Sheng Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus raw), Xuanshen (Scrophulariae Radix), Lianqiao (Forsythiae Fructus, heart removed), Sheng Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma raw), Ku Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Maidong (Ophiopogonis Radix, heart removed), Niubangzi (Arctii Fructus, stir-fried and crushed), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix).
Decoct in water and take orally.
Rhyme verse: Jiajian Liangge treats aphonia, Bohe, Zhizi, and Xuanshen together; Lianqiao, Gancao, Ku Jiegeng, Maidong, Niubangzi, and Huangqin.
Ercha San (Child's Tea Powder)
Pengsha (Borax, 2 qian), Hai'ercha (Catechu, 5 qian).
Grind into fine powder. Mix one spoonful of medicine with a cup of cool water and take orally.
Why does vomiting and regurgitation occur when the rash erupts? This is because fire-pathogen disturbs the stomach. Zhu Ru and Shigao are the main treatments; harmonizing the middle and clearing heat can calm the vomiting.
Note: Vomiting caused by measles is due to fire-pathogen forcing inward, causing stomach qi to rebel. One must use Zhuru Shigao Tang (Bamboo Shavings and Gypsum Decoction) to harmonize the middle and clear heat, and the vomiting will stop naturally.
Zhuru Shigao Tang (Bamboo Shavings and Gypsum Decoction)
Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, prepared with ginger juice), Chiling (Poria Cocos with red skin), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Zhuru (Bambusae Caulis in Taeniam), Sheng Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma raw), Shigao (Gypsi Fibrosus).
Decoct with fresh ginger as a guiding herb and take orally.
Rhyme verse: Zhuru Shigao Tang treats vomiting, Banxia prepared with ginger paired with Fuling; Chenpi, Zhuru, Sheng Gancao, and Shigao clearing fire combine to form it.
Toxic-heat transfers into the Large Intestine meridian, disrupting transmission and transformation, leading to diarrhea. At the initial stage, Shengge Tang (Shengma Ge Gen Tang) with modifications is used; after the rash has appeared and diarrhea persists, Huanglian Jiedu Tang (Coptis Decoction for Resolving Toxicity) clears the heat-toxin.
Note: Diarrhea caused by measles results from toxic-heat transferring into the intestines and stomach, disrupting transmission and transformation. The practitioner must absolutely avoid using warm-tonifying formulas. For diarrhea at the initial stage of the rash, Shengma Ge Gen Tang (Cimicifugae and Puerariae Decoction) added with Chiling, Zhuling (Polyporus), and Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma) is used; for diarrhea after the rash has erupted, Huanglian Jiedu Tang added with Chiling and Mutong (Akebiae Caulis) is used.
