但变蒸时耳朵发冷,KY(此处疑为原文缺字或异体字,暂保留)发冷,上唇边缘出现如鱼眼珠般的白色小泡。
Treats infant abdominal pain and refusal to suckle caused by the mother's excessive exposure to cold, leading to cold invasion in the fetus.
Muxiang (Costi Rhizoma), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Binglang (Arecae Semen) (each 1 fen); Guigui (Cinnamomi Cortex), Chuanbaijiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried) (each 0.5 fen).
Crush the herbs. For each dose, take a pinch of the powder, decoct with one he of water, dip cotton into the liquid, and apply it to the infant's mouth. If vomiting occurs, add Mugua (Chaenomelis Fructus) and Dingxiang (Caryophylli Flos).
Treats Bianzheng (Periodic Growth Fever in Infants). "Bian" refers to upward reversal of Qi; "Zheng" refers to body heat. In mild cases, there is slight fever with minor sweating, resembling convulsions; in severe cases, there is high fever, chaotic and rapid pulse, or vomiting, sweating, irritability, crying, dryness, and thirst. Mild cases resolve in five days, severe cases in seven to eight days. The symptoms resemble Shanghan (Cold Damage). There may also be continuous exposure to cold pathogens. However, in Bianzheng, the ears are cold, KY (textual anomaly) is cold, and white blisters like fish eyes appear on the upper lip margin. If cold pathogens contend with this condition, there will be alternating chills and fever, incessant abdominal pain and crying.
Each
Treats Bianzheng where fever does not subside, accompanied by concurrent Shanghan warm-heat intensity, fever persisting after sweating, phlegm-stagnation in the abdomen, refusal to suckle, or alternating chills and fever during feeding.
Daizheshi (Haematitum, calcined in vinegar seven times), Shizhishi (Halloysitum Rubrum) (each 1 liang); Badou (Crotonis Fructus, thirty grains, pressed to remove oil), Xingren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum, fifty grains, skin and tip removed).
Grind the two stones into powder. Separately grind Badou and Xingren into a paste, mix them together, and pound for one to two thousand strokes until they naturally integrate. If too hard, add a little honey and pound again. This formula treats various ailments such as phlegm, stagnation, food epilepsy, and warm-heat intensity without causing deficiency even when purging.
Treats bone-steaming fever, irritability, and crying due to Bianzheng. Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Maidong (Ophiopogonis Tuber, heart removed), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix) (each 2 qian); Longdancao (Gentianae Radix), Feng (textual anomaly) (each 1 qian).
Crush into a powder. Take three zhi per dose, decoct with one sheng of water, and drink.
Treats Bianzheng presenting with cold but no heat.
Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, 2 qian); Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix), Guigui (Cinnamomi Cortex, pungent variety), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) (each 1 qian).
Crush into a powder. Take one qian per dose, decoct with one sheng of water, three slices of Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), and one Hongzao (Jujubae Fructus), and take before meals.
Treats Bianzheng with vomiting, diarrhea, refusal to suckle, and frequent crying.
Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix), Xiangfu (Cyperi Rhizoma, fried, hairs removed), Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, coarse bark removed, stir-fried with ginger juice), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Jupi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Huoxiang (Agastaches Herba, soil removed), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried) (each [missing quantity]).
Crush into a powder. Take three zhi per dose, decoct with one sheng of water, two slices of Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), and one Hongzao (Jujubae Fructus), and take warm. For the above symptoms, treatment should focus on harmonizing and balancing.
