Treatment for Leprosy (Lefeng). Sesamum Indicum Seed (Huma Ren), Arctii Fructus (Niubangzi), Viticis Fructus (Manjingzi), Lycii Fructus (Gouqizi) (stir-fried until black), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng), Trichosanthis Radix (Gualou Gen), Tribuli Fructus (Bajili), and Sophorae Flavescentis Radix (Kushen), each 5 qian.
The above herbs are ground into powder. For each dose weighing 1.5 liang, add 2 qian of Calomelas (Qingfen) and mix well. For robust individuals, take 2 qian per dose, administered three times daily at Mao (05:00-07:00), Wu (11:00-13:00), and Xu (19:00-21:00) hours, mixed with clear tea. After five days, administer every other day. If foul saliva flows from the teeth gaps, accompanied by generalized body soreness and dizziness resembling drunkenness, it indicates the medicinal force has reached its target; continue until foul stools are discharged. Dosage should be adjusted according to the patient's physique and deficiency/excess condition. For severe and acute cases, first administer Zaizao San (Reconstruction Decoction) to purge, then after slight nourishment and conditioning, take this prescription. Avoid salt, soy sauce, vinegar, pork, mutton, fish, pungent foods, Sichuan pepper, fruits, and eggplant cooked by roasting, frying, or grilling. Consume light congee daily, or eat Zaocys dhumnades (Wushaoshe) or Bungarus multicinctus (Caohuashe) boiled in light wine to assist efficacy.
Treatment for Leprosy (Lefeng). Rheubarb Radix et Rhizoma (Jinwen Dahuang) 1 liang, Gleditsiae Sinensis Spina (Zaogelaci) 1.5 qian (single-stemmed, aged, large, and black), Curcumae Longae Rhizoma (Yujin) 5 qian, and Pharbitidis Semen (Baiqianniu) head powder 6 qian (half raw, half stir-fried).
The above herbs are ground into powder. Take 2 qian per dose, mixed with cold wine before retiring. Some say to face east before sunrise. Prepare a clean chamber pot; observe the expelled small worms. If the worm mouths are black, it is an old disease; if red, it is a recent disease. After three to four days, take another dose. Continue until no more worms are expelled, thereby eliminating the root cause. Subsequently, regulate with Tongsheng San (Universal Salvation Powder). Bleeding can be induced by pricking Weizhong (BL40) with a three-edged needle. One must never consume beef, horse, donkey, or mule meat for life. Sexual intercourse is strictly prohibited; violators cannot be saved.
Take one live Manis pentadactyla (Chuanshanjia). Select the largest specimen; use 1 jin of Camellia Oleifera Oil (Shengtongyou) for large ones, or half a jin for smaller ones. First, mix 1 qian of Realgar powder (Xionghuang), 7 fen of Myrrha powder (Moyao), and 1 liang of Phellodendri Cortex (Huangbai) into the raw oil until uniform. Place the pangolin on a rack and roast over charcoal fire until it opens its mouth due to thirst. Then pour the herb-oil mixture into its mouth. If it does not consume, continue roasting until all oil and herbs are consumed. Increase the fire to roast the pangolin until crisp, then grind into fine powder. Add 1 liang of Baicaosuan (soot from kitchen chimneys), grind together finely, and store in a sealed porcelain jar to prevent leakage. For leprosy patients, take 5 qian per dose, mixed with distilled liquor (Shaojiu). Cover heavily with cotton quilts and lie down for about one shichen (two hours). When profuse sweating occurs, the parasites will exit with the sweat. Repeat the 5 qian dose every other day, following the same method. Immediately replace all worn clothes and bedding, take the patient to an uninhabited place, dig a pit, and burn them. Do not approach, as the foul odor may transmit the disease. After seven to eight days, the skin will shed like snake molting, preventing recurrence. This is an immortal prescription.
Geng Sheng notes: This is essentially the ancient Quan Jia San (Complete Armor Powder), slightly modified with good intent. Unfortunately, live Manis pentadactyla are unavailable in the south, so it has not been tested.
Attached is the ancient Quan Jia San formula: One piece of Manis pentadactyla (not necessarily alive, provided limbs, head, and tail are intact). Coat the entire pangolin with raw lacquer (Shengqi) once daily from head to tail, ensuring even application without being too thick. After three applications, roast the pangolin to ash in a clay vessel. During roasting, keep track of the head, body, and four limbs separately to avoid confusion. After roasting, grind into fine powder and take with aged wine, 2 qian per dose. Recovery follows immediately. If any part of the pangolin is missing, the corresponding body part will not heal; taking the head portion first heals the head first, and taking limb portions first heals the extremities first. It is also a miraculous prescription. When grinding after roasting, maintain separation of head, body, and limbs.
