Because of rich dietary flavors and the accumulation of stagnant qi, toxins and wind-heat are formed. Excess patterns are easy to treat, while deficiency patterns are concerning.
The disease initially arises in the Shaoyang (Lesser Yang) channel; if prohibitions and taboos are not observed, it extends to the Yangming (Yang Brightness) channel. The Gallbladder channel governs decision-making, contains ministerial fire, and has abundant qi but scarce blood. Treatment should focus on draining fire and dissipating nodules. In deficiency cases, supplement primordial qi, primarily using Qianjin San (Thousand Gold Powder); in excess cases, drain yin fire, primarily using Yuzhu San (Jade Candle Powder).

Zhou used fire needle therapy to puncture the nodule, then immediately applied Zhidu Gao (Poison-Chasing Ointment), inserting a ramie thread tip dipped in the ointment into the needle hole.
Additionally, apply crushed Duniu Xi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix) on top, changing once daily, until pus is nearly exhausted.
Additionally, bind the wound with powders of Sheng Xuanshen (Scrophulariae Radix), Diyu (Sanguisorbae Radix), Huoshi (unknown mineral/stone), Hanshui Shi (Borax or similar cooling stone), and Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma). Alternatively, apply together with Bai E Cai (Brassica rapa var. parachinensis) and Modou Cao (unknown herb). Later, use powders of Hanshui Shi, Poxiao (Natrii Sulfas), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix), Binglang (Arecae Semen), and Longgu (Fossilia Ossis Mastodi) to close the wound, followed by Zhuru (Bambusae Caulis in Taeniam), which also promotes flesh growth. After the sore heals with Baigao Yao (White Paste), if redness does not subside, apply [missing character] nest. If ulcerated for a long time without closing, use an iron cauterization tool, burn with sesame oil lamp, cauterize until all necrotic tissue is gone, then follow previous treatments.
