To treat intestinal wind (Changfeng), internal toxin (Zangdu), hemorrhoids, and fistulas with bleeding caused by the downward descent of heat-toxin resulting from drinking alcohol and consuming roasted or hot foods. Use one large intestine of a male pig, remove both ends, clean it thoroughly to remove hair, and grind into fine powder weighing one jin. Mix with four liang of finely powdered Sophora flower (Huaihua). Stuff this mixture into the intestine until full, tie both ends tightly with rope, place dozens of wheat grains on top, and steam in a steamer for three shichen (six hours) until the intestine turns black and the wheat becomes extremely soft. Remove, pound into a paste using a stone mortar, and form pills the size of mung beans. Take 100 pills per dose on an empty stomach, washed down with light wine. This medicine is inexpensive yet highly effective, especially suitable for those who consume rich foods, drink alcohol, and indulge in sexual activity.
In early October, select seeds from the fruit of Sophora japonica (Huaijiao), choosing those that are plump, tender, and solid. Prepare two new yellow earthenware pots, seal them according to traditional methods, and bury them about two to three chi deep under a shady wall. Pre-locate five or six gallbladders from black cattle. On the eighth day of the twelfth lunar month, extract the gallbladders, insert the Sophora seeds inside, hang them high to dry in the shade until Qingming Festival of the following year. Retrieve and store in a new porcelain jar. Take one pill on an empty stomach with boiling plain water on the first day, two pills on the second day, gradually increasing until fifteen pills are taken on the fifteenth day. Thereafter, decrease by one pill daily until the thirtieth day when only one pill is taken. Repeat this cycle continuously. It treats all types of hemorrhoidal fistulas with miraculous efficacy.
Take one large spider found under eaves, remove head and feet, dry and grind into powder. Place the powder on fresh mulberry leaves, hold it near the anus to fumigate for half a ke (approx. 7.5 minutes), then insert it into the anal opening. (Personally tested with miraculous results.)
All carbuncles, ulcers, swellings, and toxic masses arise from stagnant blood and the stagnation of yin and yang qi. This formula is extremely effective: Pangolin scales (Sanjiangjia, three large slices, stir-fried with clam shell powder and cleaned), Trichosanthes root (Tianhuafen, one qian), Angelica dahurica (Baizhi, one qian), Licorice root nodes (Gancao jie, one qian), Fritillaria bulb (Beimu, one qian, heart removed), Frankincense (Ruxiang, one qian, separately ground, added when decoction is nearly ready), Saposhnikovia root (Fangfeng, seven fen, radix removed), Myrrh (Moyao, five fen, separately ground, added when decoction is nearly ready), Gleditsia sinensis thorn (Zaocius ci, five fen), Angelica sinica tail (Danggui wei, wine-washed, one qian five fen), Honeysuckle flower (Jinyinhua, three qian), Tangerine peel (Chenpi, one qian five fen, white pith removed). If the lesion is located at the back Shu points, use Zaocius ci as the sovereign herb; if in the abdomen, use Baizhi as the sovereign herb; if in the chest, add Trichosanthes seed (Gualou ren, two qian); if in the limbs, use Jinyinhua as the sovereign herb; for carbuncles (Dingchuang), add Placenta humana (Ziheche, three qian, i.e., Rhizoma Paridis, optional if unavailable). Decoct these ingredients with two zhong of good Jinhua wine until reduced to one zhong. Take warm. The decoction must be prepared in a large earthenware bottle sealed tightly with paper to prevent vapor leakage. When taking the medicine, distinguish the location of the abscess: if upper, take after a full meal; if lower, take on an empty stomach. Those capable of drinking may consume a few more cups. This formula does not damage the zang-fu organs or harm qi and blood. Avoid sour foods and iron utensils. After taking the medicine, sleep immediately; once pain subsides, recovery occurs. The divine power of this formula is vast and cannot be arbitrarily speculated upon. This dosage should be administered before the abscess ruptures; it is contraindicated after rupture.
