Mr. [Surname]: The *Neijing* states: "The binding of one Yin and one Yang is called throat obstruction (Hou Bi)." In ancient times, there was no specialized department for throat diseases, so specific symptoms were not distinguished, and it was generally referred to as throat obstruction (Hou Bi). By "one Yin," we refer to the Jueyin Meridian; by "one Yang," the Shaoyang Meridian. These two meridians ascend along the pharynx and larynx. When the Ministerial Fire and Sovereign Fire are blazing and bind together in the throat, throat obstruction (Hou Bi) results. This is primarily due to the internal deficiency of Ying (Nutritive) Yin and body fluids, where Kidney Water fails to nourish Liver Wood, causing Liver Fire to flare upward. Initially, eye disorders occur, followed by secondary throat obstruction (Hou Bi). This is a disease from the same source, namely, Yin deficiency leading to throat pathology. The pulse is wiry and rapid, and the tongue coating is red at the edges and yellow in the center. The treatment principle is to nourish Yin and descend Fire. As the *Neijing* also states: "Strengthen the master of Water to control the sunlight," which is this method. Attached is the formula for the discerning expert to review.

Mr. Pan, Right Side (Luosizhuang): Phlegm congeals and Qi stagnates, resulting in tubercles in the neck and nape. If prolonged, it may develop into breast tuberculosis (Ru Lao). The pulse is wiry, slippery, and rapid. The proposed treatment is Xiaoyao San combined with methods to disperse and resolve.
Bile-treated Chaihu, White Poria (Baifuling), Processed Cyperi Rhizoma (Zhi Xiangfu), Honeysuckle Stem (Rendongteng), Dioscorea Hypoglauca Tuber (Dili), Angelica Sinensis (Jindanggui), Paeoniae Rubra Radix (Danpi), Green Tangerine Peel (Ziqingpi), Fritillariae Thunbergii Bulbus Earth (Tubei), White Peony Root Dong (Dongbaishao), Left-side Oyster Shell (Zuomuli), Real Citrus Aurantium Seed (Zhen Juhe), Aged Jellyfish (Chen Haijie). Additionally, Liuwei Wan (half jin) and Xiaoluo Wan (four liang, mixed evenly, taken three qian each morning and afternoon on an empty stomach with light salt water).

Mr. Wu, Left Side (August): Phlegm and Qi obstruct each other, the condition has developed into yige (dysphagia/obstruction). The right pulse is wiry and slippery. Treatment should focus on descending Qi and resolving phlegm. Use my own formula for wind asthma, adding Curcumae Radix (Chuan Yujin) and Trichosanthis Fructus Whole (Quan Gualou).

Mr. Zhang, Left Side (November): Excessive drinking injures the Stomach, depression and anger injure the Liver. Wood acts as the thief of Earth, severely damaging the source of transformation and production, resulting in the Stomach's inability to receive food. The *Neijing* states: "Food entering and then vomiting out belongs to upper jiao obstruction." The pulse is wiry, fine, and rapid. The disease has persisted for half a year and is not easy to treat.
Coptidis Rhizoma (Zhen Chuanlian), Trichosanthis Fructus Whole (Quan Gualou), Citretum Reticulatum Pericarpium (Xinhui Pi), Bamboo Sap (Miao Zhuru), Desmodii Stemoniferi Rhizoma (Niuzhuancao), Dried Ginger (Dan Jiangjiang), Inulae Flos (Xuanfuhua), Processed Pinellia Rhizoma (Zhi Banxia), Green Tangerine Peel with Sugarcane Juice (Qingpi Zhezhir), Fried Immature Bitter Orange (Chao Zhishi), Magnetitum (Daizheshi), Arctostaphylis Fructus (Yuezha), Red Poria (Chiling).
Possibly add milk, leek juice, loquat leaf, etc.
